Way to go Houston !!

"This is the first one we've been to for any reason," he said. "We had a lot of feeling. Whether we could hear or not, we just wanted to support the cause."

Those attending the rally waved U.S. flags -- the radio station gave away at least 2,500 -- and waved placards bearing such slogans as "Saddam Kiss My Gashole," "Want Peace? Kill Saddam!" and "Iraq First, Then France." Many rally participants wore U.S. flag-patterned clothing; some had flags painted on their faces.

"I loved it," Vietnam-era veteran Mike Palmquist said as the rally ended. "I thought it was a nice counterpoint to the idiots who think nothing matters because they stand for nothing."

Notice the liberal controlled media doesn't cover the pro-Bush and USA rallies. Just shows that liberals are communists.

Yeah, I wondered that too. She got the good guys fired up tho ! ...

The only speaker who was opposed to military intervention in Iraq, U.S. Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, D-Houston, was greeted with some boos as she stepped onto the stage midway through the two-hour rally. She and her party later were led from the plaza under protective police guard.

< snip >

Jackson Lee, who has gone on record opposing military action in Iraq, was greeted with a mix of cheers and boos as she approached the podium. She told the crowd that she was pleased it had showed her "what Americans are made of."

So that she could get herself booed, and a Houston Chronicle writer could imply that her safety was in peril (led away under police guard) from the large crowd with "few black people" in it. Probably. :D

Hey, you make political mileage whenever, wherever, and however ya can...

The most dangerous place in the country is between Sheila Jackson-Lee and a news camera. At least they invited democrats to speak (they all orginially said no, but Sheila made a "very late" appearance). Don't see conservatives even get invited to speak to the other side.

Ack, we say that here about Chuck Schumer.

This is an important point to settle. Maybe we should set up an obstacle course and make them race for the prize?

The organizers of our rally in Houston repeatedly made it a point to emphasize this was a Pro-America rally, not a Pro-Republican, Pro-Bush, or Pro-War rally. Several prominent Democrats were given personal invitations to attend. Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee was the only one to attend probably because the site of the rally is in her district and she is a notorious publicity seeker even at the risk of bad press. It tells us all a lot about liberals that other prominent Democrats invited to come out and celebrate the goodness of America didn't show up.

I was also pleased to see that our local TV network affiliate stations covered the rally in a positive light. Their reports emphasized the patriotism angle rather than the conservative partisan angle which would normally be their approach.
