Are you aware of the age of many college kids? Sure am. And in my opinion, if a person can legally enter into a contract at 18, serve in the military at 18, vote at 18, then they can choose what substances to ingest at 18. I will tell my kids the same and advise them how to not get into trouble with "the law".

I do agree with you about this statement. The poster made no such statement and obviously didn't agree with it. Posters such as you who childishly cut and paste others' posts to make it look like they said something they didn't, just to show their @$$, are an embarassment to open discussion.

"Drunk students could fall and hurt themselves during pub crawls". Read: "You'll poke your eye out". Naah, at least when you're crawling, you don't have that far to fall. :=)

The university doesnt approve of or condone pub crawls, and we will not permit them to be advertised or organized on campus, said Eric McKee, vice-president of student services.OK, they'll be organized by a bunch of people who know each other. More fun that way, anyhow.
In some respects, relatively high-risk alcohol-use behaviour is involved, and we are not in control of what goes on during pub crawls. They occur off campus, and we want to be clear to everyone that were not responsible for that.
I'm shocked, shocked, I tell you. On another note, does it strike anyone else that this guy is probably gay? Normal guys enjoy this kind of stuff, gay guys don't.

Yeah, but haven't you ever had a hangover that made you wish you were dead? Where does THAT fit in the table of dangerous activity - as suicide or drinking?

Try closing a university bar in Ireland, and you'd have a civil war on your hands! ;-)

Anyway, the headline of the story isn't quite factual. If the kids are of legal drinking age, he can't stop them going on a crawl. He mightn't like it, but he can't stop it!

So you're saying driving and sex are safe only if done to excess ;)
To: AppyPappy
I say let 'em go. (As long as they don't drive SUVs or smoke indoors or shop at Wal Mart, then they are helping terrorists)

I still don't see what your problem is. I said I agreed with dljordan and you went ballistic. One more time, for the sake of reading comprehension:
"The poster made no such statement and obviously didn't agree with it. Posters such as you who childishly cut and paste others' posts to make it look like they said something they didn't, just to show their @$$, are an embarassment to open discussion."
Your type are too common on the internet.

Your coy act is slightly humorous. The part has been played by better a freeper, I'm afraid.

The dinking age here in New Brunswick is 19 and believe me it is not good. A 19 year old will buy booze for a 14 year old etc. etc. Alcoholism is rampant in my remote part of the Province. The drinking age needs to be 21. No debate!
To: American in Canada
The drinking age should be lowered to 18, to bring it in line with other adult responsibilities and rights conferred at that age.
Someone who is capable of handling liquor responsibly at 19 or 21 will almost certainly be so at 18; someone who is not responsible at 19 or 21 would not have been any more so at 18.
