Hmmm. Biological weapons do not pose the same threat as nuclear weapons. Given that in some cases the deaths from bio-weapons would be greater, that's a true statement.

Yes. Exactly who was surprised that ABC would misrepresent public opinion.

MASH HERE to tell Ted Koppel's lefty lackeys what you think about their blatant attempt to deceive their viewers into believing that the majority of "townsfolk" oppose military action against Saddam Hussein.

Let them know that you know how their producers handpicked anti-war questions submitted by audience members in a gross attempt to sway public opinion by portraying the questions as representative of the audience.

Your thanks should go to Kristinn for the report. He dictated it to me over the phone so we could get the report posted close to the start of the program here on the East Coast. He'll have to post the names of the other members of the DC Chapter who were there. I had an obligation this evening so I couldn't attend.

P.S. My question was neutral. My question was basically, "What is the human rights case for and against removing Saddam Hussein?" I prefaced it by saying that since President Carter, human rights has been a cornerstone of American and foreign policy.

Excellent question and excellent "after-action" report. Thank you all for being there, and especially for confronting Ted & Co. with the TRUTH. My blood is boiling already, listening some of these appeaseniks! >:-(

IIRC, her "rewrite" of her denomination's theology depends heavily on 'The Looseleaf Bible'. So no surprise that she has a similar tossing away of facts and logic.

Koppel got out of this situtation by saying that all sides could furnish pictures of atrocities blah blah blah...

This is a standard liberal debate ploy. I'm assuming that the woman's picture was of, worst case, limited collateral damage arising from the legal use of arms, whereas Aziz's picture was the result of mass death resulting from the illegal use of weapons of mass destruction. Once Aziz makes his point that the two are not equivalent, the liberal interjects something like, "Both sides are guilty of this," and proceeds to continue bashing or to aid and abet the bashing of the responsible, logical, conservative position. Those who irresponsibly argue moral equivalency are heinously immoral and should be treated as such.

The questioners were stretched out over the course of the show. Because the panel was balanced and Koppel gave them time to talk, the excessive bias wasn't readily apparent--especially when the show started out biased.

Also, Kevin was standing behind Aziz when Aziz asked his question. We didn't think he would never get called on. It was late in the show when we started analyzing the apparent bias. Connie complained to a producer who responded by giving her a mic to ask a question--which wasn't her intention because Kevin was still standing at another mic waiting to ask his question.

To walk out then would have been seen as childish--like the "anti-war" woman who took control of a mic at the end--and blown the slim chance that two "pro" questions would get asked.
