It doesn't matter how hard they try to annoy him, he and all of the administration are professionals, not like the last administration/frat party. He will be at the UN, regardless of this annoyance, and in top form, too!

Tommy Sands never hurt anybody. Unless you count his performance in "Sing, Boy, Sing." Were you at WOR during the Barry Farber/Jean Shepherd era?

You were right, too!
Bomb scare busted up a confab.
Wonder which suite in the Towers is the White House's.
(No, don't TELL me, I was just idly wondering how far it is from the fifth floor)

when did the evacuation start? could any of this have been going on when bush was speaking tonight?
To: StarFan
Not me! I heard it from Joe Scarborough on his new show!

Question... did what did the suspicious package that was mailed to ABC, awhile back amount to? Wasn't it suspected anthrax? I never heard anything else about it.
The only reason why I mention this, is lately, when I hear suspicious package, I think of anthrax, not explosives.
This might just be conditioning, however... we have been fortunate so far, in that we don't live with the same level of alertness as Israel does.

My husband and I are supposed to stay at the Waldorf for 3 days in 2 weeks. All expense-paid business thing, thank goodness. Ironically, paid for by Volkswagen (husband manages a dealership.I know, I know, but it's our only livelihood!) I will think seriously about going, mainly concerned about spending time in mid-town if there's war at that time. I DO need to get away from home, however. It's been a brutal winter........

Were you at WOR during the Barry Farber/Jean Shepherd era?no. early 1980s, before i went to cbs. did cover john lennon death, jean harris trial, reagan shooting, pope shooting, sadat killing. gene klavan was there, john gambling (father of the one now on wabc), arlene francis, and so on. was covering the 1981 garbage strike when word came in of the russian invasion of poland; i broke into joe franklin's show with a *long* bulletin. it was saturday night and i was doing morning voice pieces on it when joe came into the newsroom, slapped me on the back, and said, "thanks, kid -- it makes the show important." always liked joe after that.

Are the Iraqi diplomats missing a briefcase with wires hanging out?

They broke in right at the end of Hannity and Colmes and the area appeared to be already taped off. Things can haapen here very quickly, figure it happened twenty minutes before that. That's how long it would take a Fox crew to get there, max...

"Imagine that, a suitcase at a hotel....HA!"
HA, indeed! Always helpful...as well as a tension reliever...when a dose of reality is injected into the story.

Just went by there - streets are blocked off from Madison to Lex, 52nd to (probably) 48th. Lots of rescue vehicles and tv vans in the area.

Thanks for the info -- appreciate it, and it sounds really fascinating. Some big stories to cover. It doesn't seem like Joe's restaurant over on Eighth Avenue is doing so well. Glad to know he's a good guy -- he's a real throwback. I often see him walking around the theater district.
