He has a rather "gothic" sense of humor, wouldn't you say. More fitting to a house of horrors than a "Christian" academy.

I didn't say it was funny.
To: HiTech RedNeck
Big deal - my teachers used to say that to me all the time in Catholic school.

It would have been an interesting discussion provoker, to do that and immediately follow on to the aghast students with a remark like "well God didn't do that with us, did he? See John 3:16: 'For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.'" The point being that there is so much to the story that we DON'T have from here.

I had it worse because I am almost sure that my teachers actually tried to kill me.

A theology teacher at a Roman Catholic high school lost his job after giving a student a valentine that read, "I hate you, I wish you would die." Police said the incident remains under investigation. Jones, 44, was placed on administrative leave. He wouldn't comment.
First they say he "lost his job," then they report that he was "placed on administrative leave."
The former and the latter are not synonymous. So which is it?

IF the events were as reported in the paper--which I kind of doubt--then there's no way you could turn this into a positive thing.
My understanding--and it is not from personal experience, I admit--is that "theology teacher" at a "Roman Catholic high school" isn't what it sounds like. I understand that they tend to be agnostic, and more prone to discuss modern, existentialist philosophy than traditional Christian thinking.

What is "traditional Christian thinking?"
Mostly it is involved with salvation through Christ, and observance of His commandments.
I have no quarrel with those things, none at all.

During class, the report stated, the teacher used an eraser to write the word "Die" on the chalkboard while looking at the boy, then smiled.

My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. (John 10:29)
Which refutes two Mormon heresies. First, it teaches that the Father gave the sheep to the Son and they cannot be plucked out of His hand (and other verses in the chapter teach reprobation). Second, it teaches that the Father is greater than all, not the bitch of googelplexes of higher gods.
Which is a long set up for: Which part of observing Christ's commandments involves saying He didn't know what He was talking about?

Is this weird or what
What the hell is a teacher sending a student a valentine for anyway
