It is WAY past time for our government to call on more vounteers, who perhaps missed the opportunity to serve in uniform before...

To go to boot camp, take the oath, shoulder the firearms and walkie talkies... and start hoofing the border trails in formal squads...

Backed by fast response national guard and helicopters, armed only slightly less than apaches...

It's time to button up the homeland and find out who the hell belongs here and who does not.

If you think a report like this from the border area is tinfoil hat material ... you must have another agenda.

I have gotten to the point where I take stories like this with a salt lick. You know, a giant block of salt for deer.

There are a whole bunch of possible explanations for this that don't involve foreign armed forces, such as paintballers/airsofties, some militia unit, a bunch of young ex-military guys 'training', US Special ops, USBP Special Operations to name a few.

I am also aware of the recent Mexican military cross-border incidents, so I do not discount that something like that may be happening. I *don't* think that it's likely to be anyone more sinister, like Al Q or Iraqis- just doesn't make tactical sense to enter the US with no plausible cover and risk compromise that way.

All the NG, Reserve forces and equipment are overseas.

Among the other highlights from the census report: _Nearly 17 million people, or just over half of the foreign-born population in 2002, came from Latin America. Over half of the 17 million arrived after 1990. _Slightly more than one-quarter of the foreign-born population had a bachelor's degree or more, about the same as the native-born population. More than 20 percent of the foreign-born population had less than a ninth-grade education, compared with about 5 percent of the native population. The census report did not count immigrants in jails, nursing homes or other group quarters, and did not cover illegal immigration. A separate report released in January by the Immigration and Naturalization

Service estimated an illegal immigrant population of roughly 7 million, growing about 350,000 a year during the 1990s.

Mexicans made up almost 70 percent of the illegal immigrant population in 2000, the INS said. ___ On the Net: Census Bureau: http://www.census.gov

We have the same problem in San Diego.

But ... mostly our guys come with guns blazing - riding in White SUV's (which were mostly stolen from the US); other times, they're on foot, but always with weapons.

There are very few actual Army National Guard and Reserve land FIGHTING forces have been sent overseas, actually.

What gets actively deployed from the NG and Reserve are specialist and support units, in vast numbers.

There are huge numbers of Army National Guard troops and all their equipment that hasn't been called up and hasn't been deployed anywhere. Frankly, the Army doesn't trust them enough to use them unless they're incredibly desperate.

If the DPRK came over the DMZ there are some "High Readiness" ANG land units that would get deployed but as for other ANG units there are a lot that wouldn't go even then.

Anybody who seriously believes Kazakhstani troops are being trained in the US to implement UN control of the US seriously needs their meds increased or their straitjacket straps tightened a bit.

I don't know much about drugs or straightjackets but I know a few good solid citizens, sound individuals all, who've been using blue helmets for target practice these last few years.
