This is a stunning victory for Blair; now it is time for our heroes to finish the job.
Regards, Ivan

The mood in the chamber was sombre and restrained and only the joint attacks by Labour and the Tories on the Liberal Democrats war stance Mr Blair said they were unified in opportunism and error lifted the atmosphere.Hmm...a spot on (British expression) description of our own liberal Democrats.

Ivan, meant to tell you earlier that I emailed Mr Blair's speech to about 200 friends this morning.
Feedback is unanimously strong and proud...proud of the man and our two Nations' unbreakable bond in the face of international cowardice...
To: MadIvan
Hey Ivan..
Was it predicted to turn out so well?

Andrew Sullivan (www.andrewsullivan.com) had great things to say about Tony Blair's speech.
"This speech is one of the finest any prime minister has given in the House of Commons. Period."
To: MadIvan
Bravo to Blair! And kudos to our friends in the United Kingdom. Godspeed to Baghdad, and God Save the Queen!

I saw it, too. Almost brought me to tears when Blair spoke of his conversation with the Iraqi woman.

Go Blair...go Blair...woot woot!

Am very proud of your Prime Minister.
He is walking proof that great leaders rise to the occasion, and stand up to the nay sayers.
And then here in the US, we have that piece of dog sht, Tom Daschle et ilk.

Tony Blair is truly a statesman. Some of us did not know that he had it in him, but he is a great man, and a man of courage and honor. He has won our respect for standing beside us in our hour of need.

I have to tell you how proud I am and so glad that our U.S. soldiers are fighting along side of British soldiers.
I saw a two hour special on the History channel Sunday night about the SAS Bravo-Two-Zero unit (the "scud hunters") that went into Iraq during the first Gulf War. I missed the first 20 minutes (was here on FR!).
The unit lost some men due to exposure and one in a gun battle. Despite all the things that went wrong with the mission (not their fault), they didn't quit.
The soldier that trekked bleeding, in pain and hallucinating all the way into Jordan and the two that were captured and tortured showed incredible courage.

Thanks so much! I had planned to go look for the speech.
