I read Aziz got his too in a re-group meeting he had set up. Hope so. The story was on one of these threads, which I have lost.

What about that press conference that was shown today? Was that a tape, too? It appeared as a recent press conference. (I thought all of the regime heads got blasted in the bombing of the presidential palace.)

Someone else just saw him give a press conference. DANG it. I didn't see it.

Someone called "Batchelor and Alexander" put out the story and people are saying they are not reliable, so bad info, I guess.

Surely someone knows whether Saddam ever before aired a speech while wearing glasses? If not, it lends more credibility to the practice theory.

One more time. Saddam has been dead for over two months.

It is his sons and his regime we are fighting and must now get rid of.

The sons are worse than the father. Believe me.

Now I'm NOT trying to be a smart-alec, but I was curious if you still believe Saddam is dead. According to the news this morning, Rumsfeld, etc., are over 90% sure that he IS alive. They think the body pulled out of the rubble was one of his sons. If he is dead, it would be much better if the Iraqi people knew about it.

There are still mean, devious people running the show over there.

I had not heard that news this morning.
I still believe he died about 3 months ago.
Were any representative from the US to claim Saddam was dead, it would still not be accepted by the Iraqi's at this point.
It also would not affect the immediate future, as his son was placed in charge of the 'army' and named heir to the throne. His son might be dead, but that still won't affect many of the Iraqi's that still resist.
Many are just protecting their homes, as we would ours.
They have been controlled by Saddam for so long, they no longer believe they could actually be free.
Most Iraqi's believe we want to steal their land and oil, just as many Americans believe all Islamic's are terrorists.

The most intelligent, most beautiful, most powerful, most humane woman I know is an Islamic. She was on C-Span2 the other day discussing her new book, and responding to questions about the war. How many Americans know her name? (btw, she is from America).

My point is that without communication, without cable/satellite tv, without newspapers, without radio broadcasts by the media telling the populace how and what to think, the Iraqi's, for the most part, will continue to fight, house to house, to the death.
Those people are the ones I am most sorry for. I believe President Bush feels the same way. That the Iraqi people would see their liberators as evil and their longtime captor as good, and give their life for it. Unfortunately, we have to fight anyone that won't surrender. We have to kill women and children, if they participate in attacking our soldiers.
Yes, there are still mean people over there. There are people over there that are mad at us, and have a right to be mad. No matter what, the change of the view of the Iraqi populace will not happen with the speed of the advancing armies. It will take a much longer time, and some serious actions by the US before they or many of the other countries trusts us. And I don't blame them.

P.S.
When they had the strike on the place where Saddam and sons and top Guard were supposed to be having a last minute meeting, they later claimed that all were there and they killed or injured Saddam. They said they got at least one son.
I believe they were giving his guard, regime an opportunity to surrender by claiming the Saddam was dead and killed in the attack. (since they knew he already had been dead for months) Best way to save faith. All Iraqi's could give in and say they fought to the death(saddam's anyway).
Well, the R.Guard didn't surrender, so now the issue of Saddam's state is kept floating so that when the next opportunity opens up, they can make the best use of it.

Admitting he died 3 months ago won't help either the coalition or the Iraqi's right now.
