Yep...Rick Leventhal and Greg Kelly are doing a great job. I hope their careers take off big time after all this is over.

Tony Snow thinks Al Jazeera biased. Has he listened to ABC, CNN or MSNBC.....? Sheesh, just heard WABC radio call the murder of an aussie journalists as an 'accident'. Sickening beyond belief.

As for the embedding.......I think it stinks and it's a disservice for the families. The reporters are uninformed and put the real soldiers in harms' way........

Just my uninformed opinion, of course.

I have already written a strong letter of complaint to MSNBC because I noticed that when Iraqi VP Ramadan was boasting that IraqiTV was going to show captured American servicmen, Peter ARNETT [MSNBC/Nat'l GEO] didn't voice a word of complaint at the news conference that taking or showing such a video was violating the Geneva Accords.

IMO, Lots of US and Int'l networks have a vested bias in seeing that US/UK Forces lose as many personel as possible because they personally oppose Operation Iraqi Freedom.

" I just helpd with the "embedding" of a reporter that's gonna leave with a unit from here"

What are the terms for the embedding? Besides the obvious restrictions on broadcasting strategic info-if an embed decides they want to bail-can they? If they can't take the stress or find they are now in a safe, liberated area-are they free to leave? Or do they have to stay with the units until the military releases them?

Rick was the FNC reporter who had to get in or under a newstruck when the first tower fell - praying to survive the oncoming cloud of debris.

Rick Leventhal gives wonderful reports, doesn't he. He is my favorite, and he shows such respect for the troops. I hope he has a great career with Fox News.

I don't knpw for a fact what the procedure is if a reporter starts to suffer from shell shock....but I feel sure, IMHO, that there are procedures in place for getting them out. Most of these reporters know going in that it's not gonna be a cake walk and that point is re-inforced with some of the training they get before they leave. And I hope that the reporters don't start getting bored when they get into liberated and safe areas and want to start jumping ship. To me, that would bring whatever admiration I have for them down a couple pegs if they only wated to hang around my unit while the "action" was going on.

I think all Geraldo reporting is great, even back in the studio and last night's show with 82nd Airborne should have been required viewing for all schools in the country. It was fantastic. And, like you said, the cherry on top was ending the show with a prayer by the chaplain. The whole show gave me goose bumps and tears. I wrote to Geraldo and Brit Hume (he's the director of news) telling them how patriotic and helpful it was and thanked them for adding the prayer.

That is a great idea. I am going to write them too.

I meant to add that Geraldo told about how he was on the streets protesting while soldiers were in Viet Namn. He said later he talked with several vets and they talked with him about how it had made them feel. Geraldo said it was to his constant shame and vowed that if he couldn't serve in the military he would do as much reporting as he could with and about the military for the rest of his career. He loves them.

Yes, that was impressive that Geraldo admitted he had been wrong. Now, after hearing the news that another blackhawk crashed in Afghanistan today, killing all six aboard I am doubly glad that Geraldo had such a rousing, patriotic show last night giving all the glory to the troops.

Hopefully 9/11 brought him to his senses. His emotion seemed authentic enough last nite but I also know he's a great actor, a la Clinton. Time will tell once he returns stateside.

Re: Geraldo. I don't think he'll forget soon what happened to his neighborhood on 9-11. He's mentioned it a number of times on the air, in fact just 2 or 3 nights ago he again brought up the fact that 70 people were lost from his community, and that a number of children were orphaned.

He's a changed man, I think.

It was a Major Watters. Not "our" chaplain, but I was scanning faces in the crowd to see if he was there.
