probably the opposite.....people get weak when they see our troops captured. I expect support will drop if things get rough, but once we get control of Baghdad, support will rise again.

Our local radio station has been playing some of the press conferences live. I'm hoping that people who aren't news junkies will find out what total jerks most reporters are.

Their questions sound even dumber when you just hear them.

I have been amazed at how Tommy Franks ignores the insults and bias the precede and infiltrate the questions, and just answers them in a straightforward manner. I think I'd throw my notebook at some of these idiots!

This must be killing Daschle.
After he blamed the war on Bush's failing "miserably"... Bush's approval numbers go up and support for the war goes up.

Poor Tommy.

"72% of Americans Favor War; Bush approval rating 71%"

Is the 1% gap the only honest democrats left? The ones who will say they are against President Bush but feel that we are right in Iraq? The ones who don't use the war as a cover for their seething hatred of the President?

I saw a poll that showed support for Pres Bush by party:

Republicans 93%
Democrats 50%

will the Demonrat party faithful ever support Pres Bush?

If the nation is politically diveded in half, like the media would have us believe, then those numbers would indicate that 3/4 of America is FOR BUSH and the war.

Its like polling every 5 minutes during an operation or dental filling. So if someone gets doubts when the drilling of teeth starts to hurt, should it then be stopped, ever left to fester, infect, and rot?

That is a great analogy.

I'm curious if the numbers will rise after the POW footage.

I heard on the radio today that the anti-war protests were the smallest they've seen in a while. Maybe the POWs are having an effect or they are just tire from this weekend's protests.

The stupid politicals in D.C. lost the Vietnam war.

In this war, the politicals are giving the military more commanding power in their decisions. I notice we no longer have an imaginary line either. If we would have fought to conquer in Vietnam then there would have been signaficantly less loss of life. There's a lot of "should have". Movies have changed a lot of people's views on war. As you can see from the protests, many think the terror attacks are not threatening...possibly because they didn't see it in person and the news coverage looks much like a movie. They believe that a team of seven can go into a country, fix all the problems and get out with nothing more than a scratch. Your right, war brings casualties and that's the cost of freedom.

Honest Democrat? What's that? After Governor Daley of Illinois pushes to ban firearms, his police resort to frisking people on the street. Dems are pushing for a police state. Of course the Dems would oppose war if it were directed by the opposite party. Notice how they control the media as well? The Chicago news lied in their report of the pro-America rally last weekend. If they can brainwash the viewers, they have the advantage in the elections. Obviously, from the poll taken, they can only seem to mind control a minority.
