I pray daily for the safety of our troops and for each one who has fallen this week, I say thank you for your gift, for your bravery and for teaching the rest of the world that there are still ideals worth pursuing and dying for. Hi Rin .. I heard Fred Thompson read that "It is the Soldier...." piece tonight .. and I've held that dear to my heart since I first read it a year ago .. it is so beautifully written, so real and so heartwrenching .. as this weekend has been.

This may be something uplifting that we all can use tonight.

If you can, shut off the news for a couple of minutes, and turn up your speakers a bit, and just let your heart embrace the peace and love of God.

God Is Light.

I did the same thing! Actually, I've decided to limit my media intake to three radio shows -- Glenn Beck, Rush, and Sean Hannity. Glenn and Sean were particularly uplifting today!!!!

[Note: Even though the TV pundits are becoming unglued, the American public seems to be hanging tough -- weekend/Sunday polls by CBS News/New York Times, NBC News, ABC News/Washington Post, and Gallup/USAToday/CNN place both the President's approval rating and overall support for the war at the 70% mark!]

Did I read that one poll had support for the President at 71% and support for the war at 76%?

And at the same time, people are understanding that it won't be a walk in the park. Are Americans finally 'getting' it??

I want everyone to pray for my daughter's lawschool classmate. He was deployed in early January so had to drop out of lawschool. (the University of OK Lawschool has told him that they will hold a spot for him whenever he can get back though) My daughter tells me that he is now over there. His name is Jeffrey Burleson.

Good evening everyone. I hope you all are holding up okay.

I just want to let you all know that the support for President Bush and our Troops are out there in large numbers. Sometimes we may not see all the real support that's out there because it's burried under all the liberal BS that the media throws at us. But the liberal media aren't real folks. They don't live real lives and they certainly don't represent real folks. They just think they do.

During my travels over spring break, I saw so many bumper stickers in support of the President and the Troops. One man had a sticker that said "Sportsmen for Bush." A woman had a "Bush Cheney" sticker on her van. An older couple had an "I support President Bush" sticker. This among all the American flag stickers on cars is just a little of what I've seen.

We were driving through Lake Havasu Az to visit some family and just about every house had an American Flag waiving. I also saw at least two of thsoe "Don't Tread on Me" flags. On the street that my parents live on, there is an American Flag flying from almost every yard, and one of our close neighbors had a sign that says "Support our Troops."

Plus, I just found out that my Great Aunt and Uncle and their kids (who live in Riverside California) are super Republican. They hate what the left and the media is doing to mkae Bush look like the eveil guy. They are behind him 100%.

Anyways, I know that quite a few of you are watching a lot of news and I didn't want you to get discouraged by all the negative coverage that you might be seeing. The PResident and our Troops have tons and tons of support, and it's not just from us here at Free Republic. I'm sure you have all witnessed this first hand at pro America rallies. The liberal media just doesn't want us to see all the support that's out there.

Keep your chins up. We will get through this. Our Troops are giong to make us proud, like always. Prayers for all of them, and to the family members who have lost loved ones. God Bless (and thanks for listening.)

Oh Lord, try staying home all day. I know this sounds like a whine, but during the day it's one pundit after another shooting their mouths off about EVERYTHING. I too,have to limit myself to brief check-ins. If I had the volume up all day I'm sure I'd do something drastic. . . . .
