I might could feel some sympathy, but since Saddam insists on placing AAA, SAM's and other military equipment and personnel in and around civilian areas, I am surprised that there have not been far more civilian deaths.

The US is doing an amazing job of keeping civilian casualties to a minimum. IF we were the monsters that the world media, particularly those of the Muslim and/or African persuasion we would be carpet bombing Iraq and Nasaryia (sp?) But no, we are trying our best to minimize civilian casualties - probably at the cost of many US/Allied lives.

Well that's the thing is'nt it? How about the Soviets - a few complaints here and there, but not too much because everybody knew they would do it anyway.
