Quote "if they can get up off their government subsidized butts to do so."

Of PLEASE give me a break. The majority of Canadians are HARD WORKING PEOPLE...just like most Americans are. You have no idea what you are talking about...when you make comments like that. It just proves you have some sort of agenda.

And with that...I am finished with this conversation...which has gone WAY off the topic.

Canada is not a coward nation.

Their soldiers aren't but your political leaders are disengenious, socialist cowards. I presume you are Canadian. Please do what you can to relieve them of power and bring some sanity back to Canada.

Please do not put Canada in the same category as France.

You must judge Canada on its current actions. Canada's aggressive socialist moves relating to gun ownership, medical care, general services taxes, and its direct support of islamic terrorist is proof that it's nothing more than just what you say, they are a nation of cowards today, regardless of the past.

While not all Canadians are socialist, they obviously don't have the guts to stand up for their contrary views by either electing non-socialist politicians or by getting the heck of that hell hole.

P.S. If you are wondering what I mean by Canada's direct support of islamic terrorists, check out my tag line.

It doesn't matter to me. Your "HARD WORKING PEOPLE" will be unemployed if this boycott catches fire. And the more your PM opens his mouth, the more people we get siding with us to not purchase Canadian goods nor visit your once great nation.

OK so I guess we will just judge America by any given action that they may or may not take on any given day? That is not logical...and not fair.

There are MANY situations that people could argue that the United States should be involved in but are not. That does not mean that we judge them as bad or evil...just because they may or may not be doing what we think is the right thing.

Canada supports the War on Terrorism. We have had soldiers die for this war already. Canada is also sending humanitarian aide to help out in Iraq. Canada also has Red Cross workers in there. Canada is doing something. It is not just sitting back and watching the show.

MAY I ALSO REMIND YOU THAT WE STILL HAVE SOLDIERS IN AFGHANISTAN. Canada IS CURRENTLY fighting the War on Terrorism.

People should stop and think before they just slam other nations because they do not always agree with EVERYTHING that the United States does.

That is one reason the United States is hated by so many people.

It was and the first utterance was to seal the border. That probably will happen if SARS goes unchecked in Toronto. Then we can listen to PM Yellow Stain really scream.

I think they have to go to the UN and hope France doesn't use its veto power.

Trusting that you're not purchasing any Canadian gasoline these days. Canada supplies 15% of the US daily consumption of crude.

Add another 15% to your next fill up. Then you'll know your really putting your money were your mouth is.

Yes indeed. There are 71 million Americans are on Medicaid and Medicare. Don't dare let it over the border.

Health Minister Anne McLellan said yesterday her officials are "very seriously" considering authorizing staff to start screening outbound passengers for flu-like symptoms

This seems a little ineffective really, when you consider the likely incubation period and that someone could be infected without displaying symptoms.

Still, better than nothing I suppose.

So, if this doesn't work...

Then we had better hope it is not as contagious as its common cold cousins, 'cause it's a helluva lot worse to get...

Sure go ahead, it is logical because WE ARE THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. That says enough... nothing can top that.

MAY I ALSO REMIND YOU THAT WE STILL HAVE SOLDIERS IN AFGHANISTAN. Canada IS CURRENTLY fighting the War on Terrorism.

You are absolutely right, and I support them for that.

It does not dilute the fact that as each day goes by, Canada is becoming more and more like France. You say perception is important, the fact is, Canada is perceived as a socialist country. Many Americans view it just as we view France.

Call it a double standard or what ever you like, WE ARE THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. We do more good, for more people around the world than Canada (or any other nation for that matter) could even dream about that. If, at the end of the day, we change policy or do something different, it doesn't matter. WE ARE STILL THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. DOING MORE FOR DEMOCRACY, HUMAN RIGHTS, AND CAPITALISIM THAN ANYONE ELSE ON THE PLANET.

That is one reason the United States is hated by so many people.

Wrong. Other countries hate us because from an economic, moral, and influence point of view, we are everything they wish for, and can not be.

I get your point, but is this why you hate the things you hate, assuming you hate things?

You believe I hate oppression of freedom because I want the United States to oppress freedom?

Almost all of the gasoline purchased in Florida comes from Mexico, Venezuela and the Middle East. We're just now getting the platforms set up off our coast, so oil production in this state's waters is still about 4 years away. So no, I'm not buying Canadian gasoline products and if I knew who to boycott specifically to avoid it, I would gurantee I wouldn't buy it. I would be willing to pay $2.50 a gallon to avoid buying Canadian gas. And yes, I'm telling the Candians when I see them down here to go home, their loonies and loony politics are not welcome here in the great state of Florida.

Not at all. I don't believe anything about you because I don't know you. I am just suggesting this argument could be put in a better form, and it gets repeated a lot in its current form. If someone hates us because they envy us and can't be like us, not because they disagree with us, does the same logic apply to us?
