The Free Republic server will be down briefly tonight (4/1)
Free Republic | 04/01/03 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 04/01/2003 7:39:45 PM PST by Jim Robinson

The Free Republic server will be down briefly tonight. John is adding yet another server to the system to better handle the load. He'll have to bring the system down for about five minutes during the installation process. This should happen sometime within the next two hours. Hopefully, the system will only be down for about five minutes. Just enough time to make a pit stop.

On a serious note. I haven't experienced any lag. But I assume some must have. I guess that's what happens when you break into the top 1,000.

Well, don't tell anybody this, but John is saying that Jim's "original plan" has failed and he's having to devise a new plan.

Five minutes? That's about as long as the coalition's pause lasted, isn't it?

No, no. It's "Operation Paws". You know, where we inundate the foe with baskets of kittens. It's part of the "Shock and Awwwwwwwwww" campaign.
