bump for later parsing-in-detail.
I will point out to Prof. De Generate that some remarks require no context in order to be perfectly clear in their own right. This does not apply to anything he wrote in the letter to the Spectator - which is wall-to-wall obfuscation and intimidation-by-polysyllabism - but it certainly applies to his mogadishu wishlist.
The f*cker.

Radio station makes pre-emptive strike against peace rallies
KEN LAMBERT / THE SEATTLE TIMES
DUVALL Listeners of conservative radio station KVI-AM (570) are going pre-emptive against the peace movement, crashing rallies and overwhelming them with their numbers to where peace demonstrators complain that the informal rules of engagement have been violated.....
"It seems a little bit like a cheap shot, when they target your time and place," said Dave Meeds, 62, of Monroe, who held a "Power Corrupts" sign this week several hundred yards south of the intersection of the Woodinville-Duvall Road and Highway 203.

Rick Leventhal. Every time I see him, I remember the movie "Stripes".Every time I see Leventhal, I think of 9/11 -- he was out there, in the thick of it, reporting -- same as he is now.

I believe you misinterpreted the comments. I took them to mean that the current outpouring of pro America rallies might in part have been catalyzed by the initial rallies organized by FReepers and our Rally for America partners, American's for Freedom, the College Republicans and others. Glenn Beck and republican groups have also been proactive in this area.
All these rallies might have spontaneously occurred no matter what we did, however, it is a fact that the dozens of rallies organized by FReepers, FR and FR Chapters beginning in March, culminating in the over 100 rallies on "Liberty Weekend" (and dozens after) were certainly on the leading edge of this movement.
Conservatives by nature are not inclined to get out in the streets, however, I think the work that FR has done, now and in the past, has shown that we can successfully challenge the lefties on their home turf and have made this concept more acceptable and mainstream for many.

What I love most about this whole controversy is that the puny, stuttering pr*ck who shot his mouth off thought he could say literally whatever he wanted without considering the consequences.
He is one of those who advocate draconian campus speech codes which would force anyone who says "black" instead of "African-American" to face disciplinary charges - yet he whines about not being able to wish death on anyone he pleases without people getting angry at him.
And now, cowardly little fancyboy that he is, he's gone into hiding because his venomous mouth wrote some checks his candied ass couldn't cash.
He has ripped the mask off the political agenda of "higher education" in this country - and now the scorpions have run scuttling for cover.
It's glorious.

"...he has not appeared on campus since last week, even for class." Has anyone checked the cabinet under the kitchen sink?

This "professor" is a cowardly pissant who does not have the conviction of his cause. We on this site need to do everything in our power to make sure this smarmy little pri** is fired and black-balled across the US forever in so-called "academic" circles. I'd love to be there if he ever came face-to-face with a few vets of Task Force 75 - he'd wet himself. While one would wish bodily harm on this sniveling wimp, I am reasonably sure a Ranger would just laugh in his face - they are secure enough in their manhood that I'm sure not one of them would ever feel the need to hit a woman.

liberal universitiesHow about liberal Junior Colleges?
I teach at a j.c. and saw a sign today about an upcoming "Teach-In on Peace."
I think I'll get the only other troop/Bush supporter I know who works there and we'll get their "good vibes" goin' so fast - they'll explode!

William Pratt, 22, whose father is serving in Kuwait, said that it was important to show that support for the war exists on Columbia's campus.God Bless this student and his father. It's a pleasant surprise to see this one, I had given up on Columbia but maybe there's a backlash brewing out there, I hope so!!!

The prof might carry a thesaurus in his hip pocket to impress the home folks, but I have to question the actual height of his intellect . . . big words, empty thoughts. If I had a choice, I'd rather live next door to Cpl. Joshus Miles
