MSNBC.com finds signs of ricin, botulinum at Islamic militants camp
SARGAT, Iraq, April 4 MSNBC.com tests reveal evidence of the deadly toxins ricin and botulinum at a laboratory in a remote mountain region of northern Iraq allegedly used as a terrorist training camp by Islamic militants with ties to the al-Qaida terrorist network. The U.S. Central Intelligence Agency is conducting its own tests at the same area, but has not yet released the results, according to officials in northern Iraq.

At this moment, Peter Jennings is working on the time-line to explain that the US troops brought these materials into Iraq and planted them to incriminate the Iraqi's.

"That area was not under the control of Saddam" That's all right. The flood gates are about to open. There'll be lots of finds in and around Baghdad, I believe.

MSNBC should not be doing any tests for chemical/biological weapons since it would make them a participant rather than an observer of the war.
To: kattracks
But, but these folks were not friends of Saddam, they never exchanged xmas gifts. How could we hold someone responsible even if he didn't cooperate with the world community to remove WMD ?

Tests like those used by U.N. weapons inspectors gave positive results for the toxins ricin and botulinum in a training camp linked to al-Qaida.
To: kattracks
Is there any significant difference about the chem/bio materials being in Northern Iraq? I heard propaganda saying that was not in SH's reign. Any input?

ANY TIME LITTLE peter Lemmings is on TV, I turn the channel. We about get a concussion everytime his face shows up on the screen, as we all dive to grab the remote!
The war to liberate Iraq is entering its third week. President Bush said last week, regarding the Iraqi regime's tenacious hold on power, "This man Saddam Hussein has tortured and brutalized his people for a long, long time. We had reports the other day of a dissident who had his tongue cut out and was tied to a stake in the town square, and he just bled to death. That's how Saddam Hussein retains power."
On celebrities giving advice on the war effort...
My trash man is a great trash man, too, but he is not an expert on the war effort!

News media do that all the time. I worked in a couple of television newsrooms and we once tested cash for traces of cocaine (found a good bit of it, actually), tested those pre-made bagged salads for bacteria (found some) and tested hotel room bedding for love gunk (found lots). It's all part of their "What can we scare people with today?" ratings period special reports.
It's actually a good thing that MSNBC tested the materials found at the terrorist camp. This way you have more than just "the military" or "the government" providing proof. I'm sure that's why they were allowed to take samples.

Not under control of Saddam but you know darn well he knew they were there. If Saddam writes checks to the Homicide bomber families, don't you think he would write these guys a check?? Hope they cashed their checks because a check signed by Saddam probably doesn't mean too much right now.

That is what I was just thinking! Why and HOW could MSNBC test these findings???? Sounds a little odd to me!

Hans and France whats up?
Are you pumped up?
To: arasina
I'm sure the media remain as observers and documentation sources for any WMD but don't do actually testing. The media is being used as a second source of documentation. The Military have their own scribes and photographers.

(From the same article) And in France, police are on alert after recently finding traces of ricin in flasks in a train station locker in Paris.
**This is most likely Chiraqi's stash! I wonder who the French will turn to now?? North Korea? :-)

FOX planted it with the hope of destroying the competition.
To: jigsaw
Its only the tip o' the iceburg. Read on another thread that one hypothosis is we have found/seized WMD before now. But, now is the time to make public. Makes sense to me. If we announced the possible findings earlier then there wouldn't be a reason for Satan NOT to use them. Especially while he still had an army. With most of the republican guard taking their proverbial dirt (sand) nap, it could be difficult for him to find ANYONE to pull the trigger

It would not surprise me. The French are fools to think that they were "safe" from Terrorism. That is what happens though when you climb in bed with a Terrorist.. Look at what Clinton allowed and look at the damage it caused America. France is ignorant and now it is also "friendless."

Nope. Ain't true. Saddam. Little Tommy. The frenchiraquies, the germans, russians, democommies, socialist, anti-war peacenicks all say he does not have them. Can that many people be wrong??? (puke)
To: UCFRoadWarrior
@#20: The "chemicals" were for Saddam's personal use. Not for resale!!!!
To: kattracks
I have read that two thimbles full of ricin would be enough poison to kill all the people in a city the size of Houston and there is no antidote. Is that correct?

.......sadly, there is no liberal out there who is willing to be confused by "the facts." I have been trying to have some critical discussions with liberal friends, and I can tell you for sure, I don't know what there excuse/rationalization will be, but they will have one. Peter Jennings wil broadcast it as if it were a fact, and nothing will change.
The excuses they are trial-ballooning have to do with Saddam not having control of the area they were found. Some other candidates are that we planted them, its a cosnpiracy, or they will just shift to some minor technical detail and say how this poison wouldn't have killed very efficiently anyway......perhaps it was all made int he last 6 months that we threatened war aout of fear we created, its all our fault....
