The wait is over. The UN forcing this long wait is final proof of its ineptitude and worthlessness.

Like Russia in 1991 only this time we're lending a helping hand. And its the Iraqis who want to get rid of Saddam. Now there's a picture worth a thousand words and one you won't hear a peep about from the likes of John Pilger and Robert Fisk.

Great freedom article!!!

Tearing down his pictures and statues will go a long way toward convincing the Iraqi people he is finally gone.

Good, good, good Mr Bush, no Saddam, an elderly man in the crowd said. Best part of the article!
Ivan, Many Thanks!
Keep up the good work in reporting!

Ever notice how everything is the holiest in Islam?
The Holiest city. The holiest person. The holiest name. The holiest month.

Iraqi citizens pull down a statue of Iraqi President Saddam Hussein (news - web sites) with the help of U.S. soldiers from the 2nd Battalion, 70th Armor and 101st Airborne division, in the town of Kerbala, April 6, 2003. Bombs and artillery thundered across Baghdad on Sunday as U.S. forces tightened their grip on the capital's outskirts, bringing up more troops and cutting approaches on three sides of the embattled city. I never thought I would be so interested in seeing Saddam going down.
I wonder what Baghdad Bob has to say about this?

A U.S. soldier from 2nd Battalion, 70 Armor destroys
a portrait of Iraqi President Saddam Hussein in the town
of Kerbala 70 miles southwest of Baghdad, April 5, 2003.
Moving street to street, U.S. troops pushed into the center
of Kerbala on April 6, after fierce battles with Iraqi para-
militaries threatening U.S. supply lines north to Baghdad.

That second picture gives me a small glimmer of hope.. For the north koreans even.
If saddam goes down, anyone can.

Wouldn't it be great if Howard Kossel was alive and doing voiceover at this moment: "Down goes Saddam! Down goes Saddam!"

Please don't show pictures of Iraqi's destroying the Saddams and cheering US troops on DU...it may cause a mass suicide.

Ever notice how everything is the holiest in Islam? That tends to happen after everything has bullet holes in it. ;)

I absolutely love the picture of the one statue they show being pulled and the arm hits the ground and just disintigrates, then the head hits and pulverizes, then the platform falls on the statues back and busts the statue then the brick facade on the pedistall all crumbles down burying the statue. That is about my favorite film clip of the war.
