I am a quarter Lebanese. My gramma, who was 100% Lebanese, said, "Don't ever let anyone call you an Arab. That's an insult." We never asked why. We just said, "Yes gramma." Like in math, understanding, more often than not, comes later.

Islam is Arabian culture turned into a religion. While that may sound rather simplistic, there is TREMENDOUS evidence to back up such a claim. I won't fill the threads of Free Republic with all the proof, just go to your local bookstore/library and read up on the topic yourself.

Biggest evidence Isalm is Arabianism run amuck? The only "authorized" way to read the Koran is in arabic.

Then how do you explain the religious/ideological fanaticism of all the non Arabs Muslims? How do you explain the genocides against Christians commited by Turkish (non Arab) Muslims? And how do you explain the fact that even after 1400 years of islam being pushed down their throats, there are still arabs who are faithful to Christianity? Don't forget many Arabs were Christians before they turned to Islam. There are political and cultural (indluding religious infighting at the time) reasons for their decision to convert/accept Islam all those years ago. I think what you may be really saying (as many do) is that Mohamed simply transformed Arabian culture of the 7th century into an ideology/religion that appealed/s to many including non Muslims...
