No, Cheney's was an arrogant blunder for a fortnight. Newsweek calling it an arrogant blunder for the ages (AGFTA) is the true AGFTA!

I love the way the article gives a down arrow for Bush. His popularity is over 70%; what would constitute an up arrow? 99.9%?

Newsweak? Hahahaha....!
Next time I find myself in a dentist's office, I'll have to see if I can find this issue behind the Sports Illustrated and Highlights for Children magazines. I can't believe Newsweak is still going.

I love the way the article gives a down arrow for Bush

Leftist twit Jonathon Alter does the "conventional wisdom" column. He's the one who suggested on election night when it looked like Bush had taken Florida that the Electoral College should be overturned due to Gore having a plurality in the popular vote.

I'd like to see the net of Alter's up and down arrows on Bush since Bush took office (it's definitely more down than up). My guess is about a net 30 arrows down. Amazing how well Bush is doing given such a precipitous decline . . .

Despite my realization that much of what I read contains liberal bias, I read it anyway. However, there are two publications I absolutely will not read because they are so devoid of journalistic integrity: New York Times and Newsweek. If either were honest and advertised themselves as left-wing advocacy outlets, then I might re-consider. I read New Republic every once in a while. But attempting to pass themselves off as objective while spewing leftist propaganda is serious fraud and I just don't care to aid and abet them in it.

He's the same jerk who, in the magazine, criticized Bush's decision to withdraw from the murderous ABM treaty as a "September 10" type of decision. Presumably, 9/11 taught us that we're better off not protecting the American people.

I have a subscription to Newsweek, but only because I get it for free. (Basically, they spend their money to give it to me, and anything that takes money - and thus power - of out their pockets is fine with me.) And their left-wing bias has truly been jaw-dropping throughout the buildup to this war. Since the war actually started, of course, i've given up on the weeklies, whose lead times are too short to be up-to-date, but not long enough to allow any meaningful "analyses." They've just been piling up on my desk.

Dear Newsweek, from a little girl in Iraq:

Dear Newsweek, from the liberators: screw off. You don't know what you're talking about. If there weren't armed thugs in Iraq, there'd be nothing to liberate people like her FROM.

We should all stop feeling sorry for Baghdad Bob. Newsweek can give him a job after we liberate Iraq.

"There are no tanks ... this is their sick propaganda!"

-- Baghdad Bob, referring to US tanks rolling through Baghdad.

...On second thought, we should shoot just him.

One ought not even wipes one's nether eye with such as this. Indeed, one ought not line the cages of one's bids with so feculent a paper as is this. Lament the trees sacrificed for so tawdry a rag.

I read the Village Voice every week for precisely the reason you note - they call themselves liberal and make no bones about it.

The funny thing about the Voice is that they are usually far more open-minded than the self-proclaimed "non-partisan" NY Times. What a worthless fish-wrap that monstrosity is.

Let's freep them until they issue a correction. I've already sent an e-mail, but I won't hold my breath.
