It's real. I saw these two guys come walking down the street today carrying this sign on FoxNews, pass through the Marine perimeter and into the crowd.
Plenty of Iraqis are well educated ... some of them over here before 1990.

I'd guess the British - "wanker" is a decidedly British term. You'll also note that the banner appears to be a "www.humanshields.org" website banner, presumably appropriated from the shields themselves, folded over at the ends.
