Thanks for making practically every point I wanted to make. I read the entire transcript and read Brown in his whiny, sissy, use-500-words-when-50-will-do voice and I must say that, even when they are beating up on a leftist, they feel like they need to have three voices on their side of the debate, to offset the one on the other side.

I broke out laughing when Mr. Scahill brazenly asks for a job at the end. These loons are just too much.

And as for the notion that CNN should have 50/50 pro-war and anti-war coverage, why not a percentage that's proportionate with the number of people that believe as they do - that formula would be 80-20, to be generous with the 20, and CNN probably gave them better odds than that!

And I agree. Aaron Brown as the "face" of CNN is a ticket for ratings disaster. They'd have been smarter to keep Commie Chung and fired Brown - at least Commie could sound more authoritative.

I am stunned that these nutbars made Aaron Brown look MODERATE! At KIRO, he was one of the leftiest wingiest loony toons on air! At CNN, he's even further out there, but OMG!

And CNN wonders why they are a distant second to FNC and fading fast. What a bunch of morons.

I thought he acquitted himself well. I have no opinion of this guy since I don't watch him, but he did a pretty good job of lighting up some dingbats.

There are a few "public radio" stations that carry this garbage here and there, but it's basically financed by the psychopaths at Pacifica Radio. Pacifica stations rely on donations to get by, but they're not "public radio."

Sure they are. They are not NPR or PRI, but they (Pacifica) recieved $1.3 million in TAX dollars. Also, see below from the home page of Democracy now...

Democracy Now! is a national, listener-sponsored public radio and TV show, pioneering the largest community media collaboration in the c ountry. We air Monday-Friday on over 120 stations including Pacifica radio stations, Pacifica affiliates, WBIX.org, public access TV stations, Free Speech TV (DishNetwork Channel 9415), and Shortwave Radio

Should have had an "AMY GOODMAN BARF ALERT". Someone needs to ask Amy if she wishes she could have been embedded with the Iraqi troops.

Actually, Pacifica does get tax dollars (but it should not be comfused with NPR).

Pacifica is also controlled in the type of political content that they can spout (especially when they start hyping the Green Party, they can't even legally offer Green Party campaign literature in the lobby) because they are a 501c3 charity.

See some of these other threads (someone has located a reference to their federal funds in a PDF file).

Two sides of the dial tackle war- Talk radio stations air opposing views (Houston, 501C3 violation?)

Pacifica Radio Network Becomes Antiwar Voice

A few weeks ago, Amy Goodman played master of ceremonies at a peace rally in Washington. Later that day, she attended a different antiwar protest, involving many of the same people, this time doing interviews for the show she hosts on Pacifica Radio -- and wound up getting arrested outside the White House.

Her dual identity captures the unique role that Pacifica is playing in the media's coverage of the war in Iraq.

The nonprofit five-station network, which provides programming for dozens more outlets, is combining reportage and advocacy to provide what its leaders say is a perspective missing from the mainstream news outlets.

Just as a church cannot pull for/against one candidate or party, neither can left wing "non-profit" hate radio.

I'm hoping that their funding has not been renewed. That statement says funding was approved through Sept 2002. If it has been, we need to make noise about this. Should be a slam dunk to take this out of the budget. Unless it's US policy to fund sedition.

I'm on your side, but we are about 100 votes short in the House and Alaska's Republican Senator Ted Stevens is a BIG champion of "Public Broadcasting" and will fight any reductions! Click on my profile (name) for more info....
