Former Talk Show Host May Have Message Of Peace

The winners' and presenters' podiums have served as a political forum for some performers this awards season, but Kids' Choice Awards host Rosie O'Donnell assured that won't be the case with her. O'Donnell, who'll host the Nickelodeon cable channel event for the seventh consecutive year Saturday, said in a statement Wednesday that she will not air her antiwar views on the show.

According to The Associated Press, the former talk show host said a lighthearted show like the awards is not the right place for making a political statement. She may, however, inject a message of peace into the proceedings.

"Peace is good. War is bad," O'Donnell said. "That's the message I'd like every child to learn." Nickelodeon said a "subtle" message would be acceptable, if O'Donnell decides to deliver it.

The Kids' Choice Awards are voted online by children, and honor stars of movies, television, sports and books.

Hey Rosie, you big fat hypocritical lesbo -- Wanna step on out into the another world where children just life yours are tossed in jail or hacked to death? Try getting your carcass on a plane to visit Iraq OR the Sudan.

Here is my e-mail:

"Rosie O'Donnell has made it clear she intends on using a children's award show as a political forum. Has Nickelodoen no shame? Fomenting anti-americanism, however creatively or subtely, during a show for children is beneath contempt. Characterizing America's actions in liberating people throughout the world using the slogan "war is bad" is not only simplistic, it is ill-informed. Nickelodeon should not aim to indoctrinate through it's children's programming."

If you write to Nickelodeon, please post your e-mail here. Good to see so many people taking action.

Your message is correct. What an absolute ignorant fool she is. I object to her saying even that on a kid's show. She is a moron. War is not bad - by itself. Here is my credo which would be good for any maggot infested, dope smoking, brainless, peacenik, flower child liberal: "Give war a chance. Then, we'll have peace."

Here's my e-mail. I ranted a bit too long I'm afraid.

Dear Mr. Scannel,
Last year after my 5 year old girl asked me if she could watch The Kid's Choice awards, I let her. This year I will not.

This year I have taught my daughter about the war in Iraq. I've shared with her stories of our soldier's bravery, and showed her pictures of Iraqi's dancing in the streets when our troops liberated them from a butcher's regime.

Why would I let her watch the Kid's Choice awards when Nickelodeon has decided that they will teach my child that war is not the answer-- even when a madman is creating a genocide of his own people??

I am talking about this:
"Peace is good. War is bad," O'Donnell said. "That's the message I'd like every child to learn." Nickelodeon said a "subtle" message would be acceptable, if O'Donnell decides to deliver it.

Sometimes there cannot be peace with out war. You are trying to teach my child that her parents are wrong in their opinion about the war, and that The United States, our brave troops, and our President is wrong going into this liberation.

I will start encouraging my children to watch something else besides Nickelodeon if you allow this POLITICAL messege to be aired to innocent children who only tune in to have a good time. I'm disapointed in Nickelodeon.
