True. My introduction to Paris in 1991 was a hotel in the Left Bank where the ENTIRE neighborhood consisted of Arabs. As a 15 year old I was hoping to see some Belle Madame, but all I saw were chubby women wearing tents and veils.

What's the difference between France and a battery?

A battery has a positive side.

The article understates the number of Muslims living in France. It's 8 million, not 6 million.

I sure hope Italy, the land of my roots, doesn't allow this to happen.

A friend who is here from France on a work visa says the same thing. She says her family and friends who were against the war were so only in public. In private they very much supported it, but are afraid of the Arab population which has grown by leaps and bounds in the past few years. To me, this is all the more reason to do whatever must be done to get rid of terrorists. We do have a responsibility to future generations. They are having the same problem in England.

You could certainly be right. If we would stop the loud silliness about French wine and disrupting the graves of our dead heroes, we would hear the slight trickle down the drain of America also.

America is like a teenager - they never want to learn from any one else's experience. They always have to go through the hell themselves. Of course, I believe politicians know exactly what is in store for us - but are unwilling to do anything.

When I complain because we are letting in, actively bringing in, and not exporting illegal and undesirable ME people, my 20-something daughters says President Bush is afraid to do anything about the ones in this country. She says she believes he knows how many and how dangerous they are and he knows he can't take the steps necessary to clean this country out without their beginning violence against American people. Something to think about.

Now all the macho 'we can handle them' type can post - but maybe it would be better to offer another explanation for the PREsidents reluctance to do anything substantive about it. The old 'we don't want to upset the Muslims worldwide right now' won't cut it either - we just put our big foot down right in the midst of the ME - like that is not gonna tick them off somewhat.

"But, now comes the time to pay the check, because due to that change in foreign policy, 6 million Muslims live in France, and at least 10% of them are radical Islamists poised on the edge of violence. "

Militant Islam swarms and then takes over its victim. France instituted a policy of letting them in without restraint. Soon France will be like the places where the militant Islamics came from.

I sure hope Italy, the land of my roots, doesn't allow this to happen.

When I was in Italy in '91, I saw a lot of Africans and Albanians, but only a few Arab muslims. Italy has the lowest birth rate in Europe and there are whole towns in the South that have been abandoned to the old. The Italian government has discussed changing its immigration policy to encourage "Catholics" from the Phillipines, Africa and Latin America to come in to do the drudge work. In particular, Rome has been going out of its way to find anybody in Latin America that has Italian lineage (MANY in Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay) to "come back."

How much time before Notre Dame becomes a mosque, and the Eiffel Tower a beacon of Islam?

Many, if not most, Churches in France are nothing more than museams anyway. As for the Eiffel Tower, I built better structures with Tinker Toys when I was in nursery school.

No, I don't think he's afraid of violence by Muslims against Americans. He's afraid that any initial acts of violence by Muslims against non-Muslim Americans will generate reprisals that will compicate diplomacy overseas.

Imagine the response in the Arab world to hundreds of Muslims in America seen hanging from lampposts

There is no country I wish for an islamic takeover. Except for France. But I don't think they will see it as a punishment.

In a way that's good if they have to be chubby that at least they dress that way ---there are places where the chubby women are dressing like Britney Spears ---not a pretty sight.
