Baghdad -- Russian intelligence officials have confirmed that Iraqi spies received training in specialized counterintelligence techniques in Moscow last fall -- training that appears to violate the United Nations resolution barring military and security assistance to Iraq.

A spokesman for the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR), Boris Labusov, acknowledged that Iraqi secret police agents had been trained by his agency but said the training was for nonmilitary purposes, such as fighting crime and terrorism.

The Russian Bear gave equipment to kill Americans, too.

========= Iraqi television =========

Iraqi TV boasts that they have Russian antitank 'technology,
which was used to kill Americans, and it was
given after OK by Putin himself..

========= Terrorist Enabling Russian =========

On the trail of WMD/cruiseMISSILE/GPS-jammers/-selling Putin,
Putin disingenuously denied that Russian firms sold military equipment to Iraq
because there were intermediaries and retired agents.

They gotta hire someone other than the Iraqi Minister of Information to write their excuses.

Vlad Putin confirmed today that there are no American troops in Baghdad and that the Iraqi army has crushed the Anglo-American incursion and put the invading infidels to flight.

How could you possibly improve upon crime and terrorism? They are the best in the world now!

What about that list of available assassins Putin provided Hussein? Did he "explain" that?

You posted, "They gotta hire someone other than the Iraqi Minister of Information to write their excuses."

Their propaganda spinners imbedden in Pravda, the NY Slimes and ABCNNBCBS are no better at spinning and lying than the Russian Military advisors are at how to defeat America.

Actually, Baghdad Bob would be an improvement for their Agit/PropSpin division of misinformation.

In other news, the Russians issued a clarification of their reasons for entering into the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact in 1939.

It appears they were desirous to participate with the Nazi regime of Adolf Hitler in order to combat crime and terror.

Nothing follows.

I think that Putin/Russia is smart enough to know that they need the U.S. to keep their economy & their country afloat. But that doesn't mean that they won't try to screw us at every opportunity, they want us to stumble as much as possible to make us look bad and make them look good.

To the extent the UN continues to operate, Russia should not have a seat on the security council.

Bush reached out to Putin, entrusted him with a chance to put more of the past behind us. Who is to say Bush was fooled, perhaps it was Putin himself who couldn't resist the forces of anti-Americanism, despite his denials of their existence. Russia was quite happy walking down a double-dealing middle, but in a world of you are either with us or against us, look what has been exposed. Putin has been fooled, he's the one having to explain, not Bush.

Have they always lied this much, or did they learn at the feet of the master perjurer, Bill Klintoon? Inquiring minds really want to know.

Yes. And how come there is no comment on the information that the Russians advised Saddam on his nuclear weapons (not how to make, but what to do with the existing ones."
