I'm surprised this article doesn't mention that Bloom converted to Catholicism a number of years ago.
His last e-mail to his wife was pretty incredible.

From
The Star TribuneHe quoted an e-mail David sent to his wife, Melanie, hours before his death: "I'm supposedly at the peak of professional success and I could frankly [not] care less. In the scheme of things it matters little compared to my relationships with you and the girls and Jesus," he wrote, referring to their daughters, Nicole, Christina and Ava.
His other brother, Jim, of Seattle, remembered him as a compassionate, intellectual, skinny kid with glasses who became a state debating champion three of his four years at Edina High School.
The service was led by Cardinal Edward Egan, the archbishop of New York, and featured several other priests, including the pastor from Wichita under whose tutelage David Bloom converted to Catholicism 11 years ago.

Also this quote:
Boyd recalled Bloom's first TV appearance, when he was picked in 1984 to debate another student right after one of the campaign debates between President Ronald Reagan and Walter Mondale. "He was a very conservative Republican, and he had to support Mondale," she said.
Interesting....

God bless this man. I hope the pain eases for Bloom's wife and beautiful children someday.

He was Catholic but don't let that stop you from feeling glad.

So he had become a Roman Catholic, you're saying.
I'm with you; that's a major point. Odd it isn't mentioned.

I know Catholics who have taken the extra step and become saved. They just take awhile to break away from some of the binding tradition that isn't all that helpful. I certainly know that Charles Colson is the real thing and if he belonged to a men's group headed up by such an organization, then I believe he accepted Christ as his personal Saviour.

this is so amazing. I heard about it on Shawn Hannity's radio show today. I do not believe that the words of David Bloom and his friend Lane would ever be found in such power on any Liberal news outlet.
If you want to receive the very depth of this message David and Lane gave us in this communique do not waste time looking for it to be reported in its total reality and power by the Liberal news media(CBS,ABC,NBC,CNN,CNBC,BBC) and their Rathers, Jennings, Amanpours, Brokaws, Blitzers and Kings and the other "nattering naybobs" that crouch in the darkness just outside the circle of truth waiting for the opportunity to spread their special kind of "spin" and ramp up the unhappiness and disapointment that comes as a result of their lies and half truths.

This happened EXACTLY 30 yrs ago in N. California.
After an evening chuch service ...
Fred --- a very talented singer // song writer asked me ---
" Jesus is coming back --- are you ready ? "
My immediate answer ...
" Yes I am --- the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses me from ALL sin ! "
A month later after another service ...
there was this father and his most beautiful son visiting --attending ---
I was envious having just gone through a horrible divorce -- separation from my own son approx the same age ...
Fred had sung his latest song " New Jerusalem " ...
walked by and looked me straight in my face // eyes and said ---
"I AM READY " ...
all three together died in a truck // car accident an hour later!
I still see the grieving figure ... wife -- mother at the services !
Fred was from Pittsburg and I was on my way back East ...
he had given me his family address and asked me to contact them !
For years I had the info but not the heart to contact them !
AMEN !

It must be that the Lord had other work for David to do.
To: rhema
I hoped this would be the case.
I am glad it is.
To: All
