These 'socialists' described here are a totally different beast- they are better described as staunch anti-capitalists, if not outright communists. Neither of those descriptions fits Blair.

Agreed; and additionally, there's not too much we can do about electing foreigners, lol; I was mostly trying to focus on our own "house." I am much more concerned with our US Reps visiting Castro or defending Chavez than I am concerned about Bush receiving backing from Blair.....he is, altogether, different than our socialist/commie Reps, as McKinley pointed out.

That's why the Marxists are all het up about President Bush's plan to privatize part of the Social Security system and for all Americans to have some say over how their money is invested. That way Americans would own some of the money they put aside in their Social Security funds. But if Americans had the right to invest part of their money in approved investments, that money would belong to them and could not be confiscated and spent as tax revenues.

This is a great article, Norm; I've never seen it before. I didn't know they were also spending FICA; I knew there was nothing but IOU's in Social Security. I missed O'Reilly's program, too....thanks so much for posting this.

PS, I didn't see Matsui listed as a member of the "Progressives"; ie LIARS, he is the left hand of Pelosi these days , I believe. (What an ugly thought.)

There are probably a great many more Rats who are members of the Progressive Caucus...the problem is, their names are removed/added (sometimes, obviously, because they're no longer a Representative)...I believe there are deceitful reasons as to why names and links "disappear" re memberships lists....thanks for pointing out that Matsui is/may be another socialist/PC member....I'll check that out.

An excellent piece of research and writing, nic. Your labors have earned you a well deserved "Taxman Bravo Zulu!"

Re & paraphrasing a post I made last night on a tax thread seems appropriate here. It is directed at LIEberal/Socialist/Marxist Bastards. Read and heed!

Our intent is to once and for all destroy the Marxist class warfare argument "FRom each according to their ability, to each according to their need."

That nice sounding, but misguided argument has caused in excess of 100 million deaths since Marx and Engels published the Communist Manifesto in 1847.

Marx and Engels were wrong, dead wrong, and it is quite proper at this point in history, to lay their philosophy to rest in the grave of very, very bad & manifestly destructive ideas.

We FReedom loving Americans will not rest until the Marxist class warfare theology is destreoyed.

The issue is FReedom!

The Marxist class warfare argument presupposes no FReedom. It, in fact, presupposes and legitimizes theft and thuggery by the state against the people and slavery of the people to the state!

The former Soviet Union, Cuba and China are instructive in this regard.

There is no legitimate argument that can be made to support state theft and thuggery and state enslavement of the people!

LIEberal/Socialist/Marxist Bastards cannot exist in a state of FReedom, because with FReedom, they are irrelevant and essentially useless.

The third admonition of the old maxim of "Lead, follow or get out of the way" applies here.

Get out of the way! History is passing you by!

FReedom, ultimately, will prevail!

Charlie Rangel was peeved mainly that the crackdown made it harder for people like him to continue to defend Castro: "They [the Communist regime] know how to support their enemies and get rid of their friends."

Ponder that statement for a while, in all its implications. And if you're still charmed by good ol' "Chollie," you are . . . well, different from me.

The DLC and the Progressive Policy Institute

The Democratic Leadership Council is an idea center, catalyst, and national voice for a reform movement that is reshaping American politics by moving it beyond the old left-right debate. The DLC seeks to define and galvanize popular support for a new public philosophy built on progressive ideals, mainstream values, and innovative, nonbureaucratic solutions.

The thing with Grijalva is where to start!
He grew up in South Tucson and went to Sunnyside HS. He was allegedly involved with the hoods in the local area. He managed to get elected to the Pima County Board of Supervisors in the mid-70's. He represented the south end of the county. There has been a lot of stories about corruption, political favors, paybacks, etc. surrounding Grijalva ever since I can remember. My youngest brother and I discussed this subject the last time I was in Tucson. My family is from AZ and we have lived most of our lives in Tucson. My brother is a contractor. According to him, Grivalva made lots of money under the table from contractors doing business with Pima County. I have heard this more than once from numerous sources as well. While in county government, he dug up lots of dirt on people.
Currently, he is real big on "immigration reform". He is a lot more concerned about the welfare of illegals (only from Mexico) than he is about his constituents from southern Arizona. Watch for him to be AZ's answer to Jesse Jackson Jr.

About his background....is this well known to many Arizonans? About the above, he needs to be watched, sounds like to me.... And he's apparently up for re-election in 2004:

He is legendary in Pima County. Anyone who has lived there for any length of time knows about him. The big issue with Grijalva is that you had better be "squeaky clean" if you are going to challenge him. He has done a great job on covering his tracks while digging up dirt on others. Simply put, he would be a great government official in Mexico, or any other 3rd world Banana Republic.

About the above, he needs to be watched, sounds like to me.... And he's apparently up for re-election in 2004: Absolutely! Watch him like a hawk!

Guess we better start praying hard, now, as there is simply no one who hasn't had the misfortune of making mistakes (and I don't mean awful/evil mistakes). The liberals and liberal press go after the slightest wrongdoing to trash good people, unfortunately.

The biggest problem with Tucson is there is so many leftist RATS. This district has always voted for them ever since I can remember. Morris Udall was the Representative from Tucson when I was a kid. He talked a good story for the folks while he was at home, then screwed them in Washington. Unfortunately, this traditionally has been a safe, far left RAT seat.
