Still, Carter is proud-as-all-get-out of his rendezvous with Middle East history. He trades on it incessantly. I remember Mario Cuomo, giving his famous (though ridiculous) keynote address at the Democratic convention in 1984. He went down a list of Democratic presidents, lauding them: and when he got to Carter, all he could think of, apparently, was Camp David — the “nearly miraculous” accords, he called them. Carter, in the stands, beamed and beamed, and teared up badly.

I remember when carter did the handshakes for the camp david accords ...

he said ---

"the hardest thing I ever worked on" ...

giving himself a big phoney pat on his ego !

Ex-President Bill Clinton can't resist criticizing President Bush almost every chance he gets because he's suffering from an acute case of "victory envy."

He might also have gotten his hands on DNC opposition research indicating the Dubya doesn't have a bent di*(ll#&*)0p$*& [***NO CARRIER***]

Well, to be fair, Milosevic is in custody, while Saddam, his two sons, and his cabinet are all on the loose.

And Milosevic's trial is turning out to be one of the most abusrdly drawn out cluster you-know-whats in the history of "international law". God save us from replicating that mess in Iraq. IF Saddam is alive, and if captured, his trial will be over and his bones well bleached about the time the preliminaries are winding down in the Milosevic trial.

And doncha know that Klinton's envy of W began when he had his staff remove the "W" from each and every keyboard before the new President came into office!

I coul also see the bitter envy at GWB's innauguration.

You don't know the latter. And, to be fair, Clinton insisted on Yemen taking care of the USS Cole terrorists instead of properly dealing with it as an attack on the US. And now, the 10 perps involved in that attack have mysteriously "escaped" from Yemeni custody.

The Iraq war has reaffirmed for me the following undeniable truths:

1. Never play poker with George W. Bush.

2. Bill Clinton is to Democrats what Saddam Hussein is to the mainstream Arab world. As long as they are standing up to Republicans, they can do no wrong.
