Yelling fire in a crowded theater
Posted: April 18, 2003 1:00 a.m. Eastern
There's an organization called the Council on American Islamic Relations that would probably love it if I dropped dead today from natural or unnatural causes.
This extremist group, led by an avowed supporter of the Hamas terrorists, takes regular cheapshots at me and WorldNetDaily, inflaming its followers with lies and exaggerations about my words and those of other WorldNetDaily contributors.
I usually just let it go, figuring the less publicity these monsters get the better off we'll all be. But they continue to be invited on television and radio shows across America to spout their lies. So today I'm giving you just the most recent example of one of CAIR's crafty little attacks a kind of announcement to its fanatical followers that it's open season on me and WorldNetDaily.
The latest example is a weekly newsletter charging that WorldNetDaily has "articles almost every day calling Muslims the fifth column."
I did a little fact-checking a procedure apparently unfamiliar to the congenital liars and professional deceivers at CAIR. I typed into the WorldNetDaily public search engine the terms "Muslim" and "fifth column."
Not surprisingly, of the tens of thousands of news stories and commentary pieces written by a wide variety of staffers and contributors over the last seven years, there were a grand total of 14 entries that included all three of these words.
Some of them were news stories quoting others making suggestions about the possibility of Muslim subversives becoming a fifth column. All of them are carefully worded, responsible news and commentary articles that are worth a second read. So, I urge you to follow my lead and read all 14 for yourself. Maybe you'd like to let CAIR officials know what you think about its baseless accusation when you've finished.
What CAIR's Hodan Hassan really means when he claims that nearly every day there is a WorldNetDaily story accusing Muslims of being a fifth column is that WorldNetDaily carries some articles he doesn't like. But instead of saying that, he offers up inflammatory, slanderous, incendiary hate speech strongly suggesting the management of WorldNetDaily would like to round up Muslims in America in internment camps.
This is the kind of vile speech we have become used to hearing and reading that emanates from the Middle East blood libels of the lowest order. Hassan and company apparently want to lower the level of debate in America to the standard of Saudi Arabia, Syria and Iraq under Saddam Hussein.
Nothing could be further from the truth and CAIR knows it. There is only one reason to tell a lie this big and bold: CAIR's leadership would like some of its more trigger-happy followers to attack me and my news organization. I can think of no other reason for such provocative untruths to be disseminated to its members.
Am I overstating the case? I don't think so. CAIR knows very well that I have faced repeated threats on my life for the last three years all from people purporting to be Arabs and Muslims who don't like the fact that an Arab-American stands up for freedom, truth and justice and opposes suicide fanaticism, Jihadist terrorism and Arab tyranny. CAIR itself has organized WorldNetDaily advertiser boycotts. It has tried its level best to keep me and other WorldNetDaily personalities off the airwaves with fax and e-mail smear campaigns. CAIR itself has attempted to jam our e-mail servers by organizing its followers to besiege us with unwanted hate mail.
But I've got news for the people at CAIR some of whom I have debated on television and radio and humiliated by simply and candidly confronting them with the harsh reality of their own words and deeds. These continuing, relentless attacks on me and my news organization only make me more determined than ever to expose CAIR's lies and hypocrisy.
The truth is there's nothing very American about the Council on American-Islamic Relations. CAIR uses the freedom of speech we value here in America to attack U.S. institutions at every turn. It spends most of its time and resources portraying America as a hateful, intolerant place for Muslims.
There are few here in this country who take such nonsense seriously, but, I suspect, CAIR's real audience is not here it's in the Arab and Muslim world. That's where the money is for this kind of sick and twisted propaganda. Fifth column? Though I've never said it before, that might indeed be a very good description for CAIR after all.
How unintentionally hilarious.
I wouldn't necessarily disagree.
But then again, I don't think anyone from WND would support your rape and my murder.
No problem. When I was young, I hadn't seen much of the country, either.
And in case anyone is wondering, Mansoor Ijaz is or was on the board of CAIR. He is one of the few opposition voices to their hate speech.

Three U.S. Media People Attack Islam
Three U.S. Media People Attack Islam CAIR said the three made a habit of attacking Islam, looking down upon Muslims, and describing them as backward.
No. The reason CAIR lies so much is that some Muslims live in a fantasy world, where Baghdad Bob tells the truth and Israelis are bloodsuckers and America is evil. They need to keep lying to reassure each other, because reality has an insistent way of intruding into their lives. They live with lies, and do everything they can to shield themselves from the truth.
CAIR would be very happy if Farah died, they do like to incite people against their critics, but that isn't why they are lying. If they stopped lying, everything would fall apart.
I wouldn't go THAT far...
Wait until the Islamokazis start assassinating journalists, anchors, and politicians who come out against Islam once the threat has become too obvious to ignore.
By the time anyone can speak out against the threat Islam represents to the U.S., or take action to stop it, there'll be enough of the Islamokazis here to do the dirty work for the mullahs and "Muslim Rights" groups.
Just wait about twenty years (maybe less) or so, and you'll see. Our country is gonna get a whole lot more interesting...our borders are wide open, and we're still allowing virtually unchecked immigration from each and every Islamokazi nation.
Now why would that be, can you tell me? Why would we allow immigration of any kind, even so much as a "student visa", from nations who pose a direct threat to our way of life?
