Poor Charlie Reese.

Dumped by his paper due to his increasingly lunatic fringe views, he's forced to watch the rising stars of the media, such as Sean Hannity, rake in the bucks and become influential "players."

Meanwhile Resse becomes another waterboy for the irrelevant "paleo-libertarian" right, a bunch of anti-semitic, anti-America grouches. Reese, Sobran - what a bunch of sourpuss malcontents!

The US military didn't destroy the museum, the Iraqi's did, it's theirs to destroy if they choose.

Well, what can you expect from an immature groupie? Every time he tries to think, his face reflects the pain of the effort.

Which is exactly why I can't watch or listen to him.

I see this morning that there is a CNN report that an item from the museum showed up at a US airport customs search.

I am positive that this was destined for a wealthy collector, whether here in the US or somewhere else.

It will be interesting to see who is involved in this theft. The FBI has their art theft group beginning work on this, and I will bet those artifacts (the ones that aren't fakes) end up in some interesting hands. Personally, I am hoping that we find that some were destined for the collections of high-profile DNC donors.

I think Hannity has gotten much, much worse lately. He points his finger and ticks off the talking points, shouts over the top of the guests and then starts the whole act all over again. Some of what he says is valid, but he cannot think on his feet and the decibel level needs to be turned down.

You know he's gone too far when you start to feel a little sorry for Alan!

This whole issue is akin to the LA riots after the Rodney King verdict. If the Iraqis are so dumb as to not care about their heritage and to destroy their museums and homes etc, they get what they deserve. I would not have expended 1 American life for something the Iraqis should have been proud enogh of to protect themselves

The truth is that Saddam had the museum closed for the last ten years and he and his family had sold off or kept for themselves all the really good stuff (Source: Batchelor and Alexander radio show last Thursday night). Reese is the whiner.

Why has nobody pointed out that the damn place was looted before we got there, by people with keys to the place?
Get over it!
There is nothing the U.S. could have or should have done to prevent this.

I agree with you completely. What's more important: clay pots or human beings? And in the end, the looting on the museum was an inside job. Tough nouggies.

<> Yes it is. The left loves culture but not historical facts and is uninformed. << Beware of people who can't tell the difference between patriotism and military conquest. Beware of people so stupid and ignorant that they accept anything and everything the political and the media demagogues tell them.>> This explains who liberals are.Like when the Clintons or Dashle's or Kennedy's or other liars open their mouths to deceive? All pacifists I have known are simply foolish people who live in the morass of lies and refuse to confront evil, and many are violent. Remember the violence of the pacifist parades and demostrations.

"I disagree with Charlie on the war, but he's spot on regarding Hannity..."
Oh, horsepoop. This is empty ranting. No one in the anti-Bush camp raised a flag "be sure to protect that museum". NO ONE. We knew that Sadd Ass was going to blow the oil fields, so we protected them.

I fear Hannity is getting too obsessed with himself....listening to his Radio Show, then the RERUN on his nightly show gets more than boring....

Add to that the fact that he is continually READING OFF SCRIPT OR FROM ARTICLES and rarely offers up an ORIGINAL thought...

I just find him too boring anymore to listen to.

It is painful to watch poor Bill Bennett trying to have a conversation with Sean.

You can see the gears working inside Bennett's head trying to dumb down his position in order for Sean to understand.

Hannity is an insufferable trog for sure. He grew up not far from my hometown (he's from Massapequa around 10 miles away) I know his type. He's a typical suburban Long Island dickweek.

Beware of people whose limited brains see everyone as either an ally or an enemy.

Very, very true statement.

Charlie makes some good points in the article, but I can't quite understand how he expected us to have some kind of "anitiquities protection protocol" with all we had to accomplish. Yes Charlie, the left really is using this as an "excuse".

If Charlie really wants objectivism, let's say that Hannity is a moron and so is Charlie with his unending, bitter temper tantrum. His articles are worth reading, but he's not quite as bright as he thinks he is sometimes.

It was a sad thing about the looting of the museum. But, why didn't they have better security measures in place? They had months of warning before the war.Could they not have moved the artifacts to safer premises in that time?
And, one "clay pot" does not replace a US soldier!!

I find Rush guilty of this occasionally as well, although he doesn't have guests...he simply goes off on a tirade based on a New York Times article (usually one with unnamed sources). For the life of me, I can't understand why he lets the Times stampede him. They are every bit as lying as Clinton, and their articles have been repeatedly refuted and disproven.

It's ironic how the Democrats decry looting and looters, except when it is carried out by their constituents as we have witnessed in South Central LA. Then it becomes a tighteous display of anguish and Maxine Waters gets a few more million to toss into the fire.

I listen to Sean, and fundamentally I agree with him most of the time. However, he has several idiosyncrasies that annoy me, such as saying "our good friend..." or "my good friend..." as well as other often used phrases. It might not seem like a big deal, but to me it gets annoying. I just get the impression that he's a big bullshi**er. When he takes a call on the radio, he'll initially let the caller talk, but then rush him/her after about a minute as though he's trying to get as many calls in as possible, rather than focusing on the content of the call.

Ya thinks it's POSSIBLE, that all this crying about the museum is coming from those on the left because there's NOTHING ELSE THEY CAN COMPLAIN ABOUT, OR TAKE ISSUE WITH?

yes

BTW, I could not care less about a bunch of clay pots, muslim writings & whatevere else was in the museum. They can torch the whole collection & it won't affect my life.

But cutting taxes on dividends is something I do care about...

People are anti-war because they do not wish to see anyone die — our soldiers, their soldiers, our civilians or their civilians. Anti-war is pro-life.

Too bad they don't use this line when it comes to unborn babies...

Being anti-war does not come with the associated responsibilities and child support payments as does a baby.
