I can't believe that anyone bet a nickel on a Clinton telling the truth. Even if Hillie and Willie split, whatever each wrote would be fictional and self-serving. THESE ARE CLINTONS!!!

"But the Clintons are somehow keeping their marriage afloat.

So Simon and Schuster is run by a bunch of morons.

They are getting what they deserve. It makes me sick to think the clintons get that money for nothing, but it was plain to anyone with a brain this would be the outcome of these disgraceful book contracts.

Somehow keeping their marriage afloat? Good grief! What a bunch of dopes.

And the media types who support the clintons would have denounced such arrangements until the offers were rescinded if it had been a conservative who they despise. The pressure would not have let up until such dishonest business dealings were nipped in the bud. But not the clintons. Some (not all) prattled on about these deals as if books would actually result someday!

Are they lying when they say this stuff or deluding themselves?

I'm curious as to why they keep up the charade too.

Isn't the leading theory "spousal protection" against testifying?

It's the publishers fault. The publisher knew that they both told investigators they could not remember anything,

Why they are still married:

1. Hillary can't get elected unless she can cmpaign with the implied promise that by electing her, Bill will be back in the White House.

2. Legally, spouses cannot be forced to testify against each other.

Suppose the sheeple will believe it if they read it in the Enquirer? Most trusted name in news.

I'm curious as to why they keep up the charade too. I think she keeps him around for fundraising only.

Real answer: SS Protection, Rent/Mortgage payments from government., all perks of being wife of ex-president. If they get divorced, she no longer gets these things.

Now that's a book Simon & Schuster could publish to make up some of the loss.

Bull hockey. I think Simon and shuster never planned on a tell all,,this was a pay off to the clintons pure and simple. They wanted books to guarantee hillary a run at the white house. This is for the masses to believe.

Oh come on! Did anyone really think that those advance checks would be regarded as anything other than outright gifts by the Clintons? If there ever are any books they will be ghost-written pap with nice portraits of Bill and Hill on the respective covers and one-liners written by corporate marketing hacks on the back.

Oh please, this is exactly what she intended all along. Tell-all - when have either of those two EVER told all about anything? Simon & Schuster playing the standard dupes to the Clintons. They better have their lawyers take a cold, hard look at the contract.

LADTX WROTE: "Don't tell me these publishers actually expected them to be truthful and forthright in their writing and the contracts they signed. Their gullibility is astonishing."

There is NO way either Simon and Schuster or Bill's publisher is livid! They either KNEW about the Klintons' criminal "business" and "personal" activities prior to making the deals---or they SHOULD HAVE KNOWN! Either way, they have NO EXCUSE!

What they ARE doing is to make it LOOK like they are livid so they can COVER UP the FRAUDULENT $20 MILLION PAY-OFF "book deals."

By ACTING livid, they can claim an IRS DEDUCTION---and WE GET SCREWED AGAIN!!!!!

Yeah, right! I guess we're expected to believe that there ever was a book. It is quite obvious that it was a payoff to someone who was the soon-to-be junior senator from NY. The publisher and Hitlery will continue to cover for one another.

There never were going to be any books, and I believe that the publisher(s) knew it. Just a funnel-through, payoff scheme. After all, they can no longer sell pardons.
