Planned Parenthood: Bush is Public Enemy #1
Seamax ^ | 4/27/2003 | Fr. Michael Reilly

Posted on 04/27/2003 6:46:58 PM PDT by Hugenot

I'll bet you thought public enemy number one was a radical Islamic terrorist like Osama bin Ladin or Saddam Hussein. Not according to Planned Parenthood Federation (PPF). Public enemy number one is none other than President George Bush.

Citing "a wealth of factual evidence to document George W. Bush's seemingly inexplicable war on women," PPF documents the President's pro-life agenda on several fronts, which include:

--Reducing Access To Family Planning --Building The Platform To Outlaw Abortion --Redefining The Legal Status Of The Fetus --Packing The Courts To Overturn Roe --Replacing Science With Right-Wing Ideology --Censoring Free Speech

PPF is undoubtedly displeased by the Partial Birth Abortion Ban and several key pro-life appointments, such as John Ashcroft.

On his first day in office, the 28th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, Bush restored the global gag rule on international family planning assistance. He also eliminated contraceptive coverage for federal employees in his first budget and closed the White House Office for Women's Initiatives and Outreach.

Furthermore, the Bush administration gives embryos new status in the HHS Secretary's Advisory Committee on Human Research Protection Charter in October 2002 and advanced the position that life begins at conception at regional population conference in Asia in December 2002.

President Bush increased "abstinence-only" education funding in October of 2001 and named many "abstinence-only" proponents to various key posts.

According to PPF, "These are not isolated actions. Together they represent a core element of his administration's agenda. They constitute an interrelated strategy. Bush has supported some 40 initiatives to abridge the reproductive rights of women and men in the U.S. and around the globe."

Let's hope that that pro-lifers remember this in November of 2004.

The 'cult of death's' evil agenda must be stamped out. GW needs our support -- the shrill and empty rhetoric of the left notwithstanding.

When people with sense put sense in front of their faces, they respond by covering their ears and screaming. Pro-aborts are dilusional and lose every rational argument because they simply don't have the truth and the facts on their side.

Yikes! Think of how unsafe women would be if NOW and PP weren't trying to get Scott Peterson a lighter sentence!

In their shallow little minds, a woman's whole identity is based upon sex without consequence.

Very precisely insightful. You've not only hit upon the bottom line of the pro-abort movement, but this is also true of the gay rights movement: an identity based upon sex without consequence.

The entire sexual revolution and ensuing condom cartel had this as its very reason for being: Sovereignty re: sexual liaisons & absolute control over consequences.

The self-identity of too many modern folk can be summed up simply: I shall be my own god of my behavior. Since I cannot live with my behavior being stigmatized or labeled as taboo, I shall seek to control others' behavior patterns as well. And since all relationships involve character issues--and sexual behavior with another person falls under the character umbrella--I will redefine morality in my own image or in our larger image as a movement that identifies with sex minus consequences.

Abortion is to protect promiscuous straight men from some of the consequences of their promiscuity. To be "anti-abortion" is to be "pro-consequences"--the most vociferous pro-aborts I know are affluent white males, not the women in their lives.

Hey, if a man could "choose" to get an abortion, Laci Peterson would be alive today.

President Bush is Public Enemy #1 to Planned Parenthood??

All I can say is, praise the LORD for this President who has the enemies of LIFE so angry.

We need to continue to hold him up in prayer as he seeks to return America to a culture of LIFE! This is spiritual warfare!

You're absolutely correct. They don't speak for most of the women I know, except perhaps those here on campus. They don't have the sense God gave them at birth. It's NONsense they talk about when it comes to alternative lifestyles and abortion. Too bad. Nice folks, wrong mindset.

It sure is spiritual warfare! And it's hot and heavy. But, we, as Christians, can pray and satan will be defeated. So, pray, pray, pray! Our president is in the midst of it as our leader who loves God and tries to follow Him the best way he can. We all need to pray for him.

Dave -- shouldn't you write PP and tell them they really don't have anything to worry about from the President, because he can't really do anything about abortion? You'll have to explain that to them; I can't.

".....I can't think of a greater compliment than to be deemed dangerous by evil people like the PP crowd."

Actually I've speculated for quite some time that, though most don't realize it, the left hates President Bush SO much because they see Christ in him. Same irrational hatred that hung Him on the cross.
