Planned Parenthood: Bush is Public Enemy #1
Seamax ^ | 4/27/2003 | Fr. Michael Reilly

Posted on 04/27/2003 6:46:58 PM PDT by Hugenot

I'll bet you thought public enemy number one was a radical Islamic terrorist like Osama bin Ladin or Saddam Hussein. Not according to Planned Parenthood Federation (PPF). Public enemy number one is none other than President George Bush.

Citing "a wealth of factual evidence to document George W. Bush's seemingly inexplicable war on women," PPF documents the President's pro-life agenda on several fronts, which include:

--Reducing Access To Family Planning --Building The Platform To Outlaw Abortion --Redefining The Legal Status Of The Fetus --Packing The Courts To Overturn Roe --Replacing Science With Right-Wing Ideology --Censoring Free Speech

PPF is undoubtedly displeased by the Partial Birth Abortion Ban and several key pro-life appointments, such as John Ashcroft.

On his first day in office, the 28th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, Bush restored the global gag rule on international family planning assistance. He also eliminated contraceptive coverage for federal employees in his first budget and closed the White House Office for Women's Initiatives and Outreach.

Furthermore, the Bush administration gives embryos new status in the HHS Secretary's Advisory Committee on Human Research Protection Charter in October 2002 and advanced the position that life begins at conception at regional population conference in Asia in December 2002.

President Bush increased "abstinence-only" education funding in October of 2001 and named many "abstinence-only" proponents to various key posts.

According to PPF, "These are not isolated actions. Together they represent a core element of his administration's agenda. They constitute an interrelated strategy. Bush has supported some 40 initiatives to abridge the reproductive rights of women and men in the U.S. and around the globe."

Let's hope that that pro-lifers remember this in November of 2004.

Are liberal women the only ones in this nation that count? I am a woman, always have been, and the President is not threat to me. I guess I don't matter to these socialist anti choicers.

In their shallow little minds, a woman's whole identity is based on promiscuity and sex without consequence. So any efforts to restrict abortion or suggest that the babies produced as a consequence of sex have rights really *IS* a war on women.

It has been 30 years since Roe v. Wade. The death toll may be over 40 million, not merely 4 million. Maybe that's the figure you meant to type.

Considering this pronouncement comes from an organization that claims Scott Peterson should not be charged with two counts of murder since one of the victims was "only" an unborn child, I'm none too concerned.

Anyone with a lick of sense can see that those idiots have no-one's interests at heart save their own political futures.

Yes, the president's actions represent a core element of his administration's agenda. They reflect the core values of mainstream America. It's SOOOOOO refreshing to have a real LEADER again; a man who suits actions to words!

In addition, there was nothing wrong with banning so-called 'partial burth abortion', the US taxpayer SHOULDN'T be forced to pay for the murder of babies worldwide and closing PC, government funded male bashing clubs is good for our society (and saves money)

I really hate it when creatures like her pretend to speak for ALL women. They don't speak for me. They don't speak for my daughters. They don't speak for most women.

The liberals don't care how many children they kill. They say " Don't murder people in Iraq ", yet, they don't care how many helpless Americans die. These pro-death/lesbian/anti-God monsters think that they are in the norm, yet most Americans know they are going to have to answer for their crimes.

Bush has supported some 40 initiatives to abridge the reproductive rights of women and men in the U.S. and around the globe." I've not read about that! Have any of you read where President Bush is preventing sexual intercourse between men and women? I must be missing something 'cause I haven't seen one single story about Bush stopping women from copulating with men and/or conceiving. There's been a few things in the news about this President working to re-establish the sanctity of individual human lives in the womb or petri dishes. I notice where he is eagerly awaiting a Congressional ban on jerking a living, conscious child down nearly all the way out of her mother then jabbing scissors into her little braincase and sucking out her brain. I seem to recall something about that ... and, oh yeah, that homophobe, Senator Santorum was the one who championed that ban through the Senate, even debating such notable champions of serial killing as Boxer, clinton, Lautenberg, and Harkin. And I recall something about not allowing government subsidy for conceiving new embryonic individuals and then stripping their body parts from them and tossing away the leftovers. I think that one was sort of, you know, well, kind of stopping government from backing stealth cannibalism of an embryonic individual's body parts. Gee, I guess I need to start paying attention to the news. I didn't hear about Bush trying to ban sexual conception. Wow ...

Gee, Planned PArenthood has been supported the killing of 45 million American babies since 1973.

About half of them were future women.

Guess that makes them their own Public Enemy #1.

Too bad we can't arm the unborn. Abortion would be a bit more sporting if the little guys had nines, eh?

Here's some information from current Texas legislative issues

http://news.seguingazette.com/report.lasso?wcd=4003

I wonder why so much more space is given to the "pro-choice" side. (The reporter got in some of my more important points, though. And there aren't any blatant misquotes, he just used very little of the 20 minute interview.)
