I think it might be best for all if Mr. Abbas should be allowed to suffer a quiet heart attack soon.

I don't want to spend too much capital on himA heart attack can be provided very inexpensively, probably more cheaply than keeping him in a cell for a day.

Who would want to spend a penny on these fanatic loosers? The point however is that in the USA we could fry him (litteraly); the Italian judicial system has no such 'iron clad' guarantees available and at best they'll give him 25 years which means that with amnesties, pardons, good behaviour etc. he'll be free in 8 to 10. And if he declares himself political prisoner it's all over but the crying: some stupid little party will get him elected to parliament and then it's off to France with no hope of ever seeing him again (if you don't believe this scenario which has already happened in Italy in the past google Tony Negri).
Gitmo is probably the best answer; and I'm fervently hoping the next ones are 'found dead' if you catch my meaning ...
