Some hero should work all these prohibited items into one story or epic poem.

I think you completely misread MS.BEHAVIN's post. She never said, or even hinted, that everyone should experience everything all over again and we should never learn from the experiences of others.

However, by sticking our heads in the sand and not ever even admitting that there are other ideas besides our own, we make ourselves .. and especially our children .... vulnerable to attack. The child who has never had a parent discuss drugs or sex or other religions or cultures or whatever is more likely to find those things attractive when they are in a period of rebellion ... and many kids go through that. But if the parent has discussed with the child the existence, dangers, fallacies, pitfalls, and/or errancy of those other things, then the child will be less susceptible to their supposed allure if confronted with them when the parent is not around.

MS.BEHAVIN specifically talked about "good parental guidance" and, IMO, your rebuke of her in that respect is out of line. "Looking at life from all angles" is not at all the same thing as experiencing all those angles. You have put an interpretation on her words that simply is not there.

It took less than 50 posts to change a PC topic into an evolution argument. The athiests will never admit their argument is so crazy it can never be proved because it is imposible. Now the thread will go on for 500+ more posts and nobody will change anybody's mind anyway.

I gave up trying to change schools to my liking and decided to change my daughter instead. I just homeschooled her. It was easier. Now I have a thinking, moral, bright, adult, ready to make her mark in the abyss we have created for her. The odds are against her, but God is for her, so she will do fine. We haven't had to waste time, money and sometimes blood on drug abuse, alcohol, abortions, jail and lawyers, and other various so called rites of passage.

Homeschool NOW! Your child is a terrible thing to waste.

This is why I homeschool, and many others that I know are doing the same.

The public schools are going to be in BIG trouble in the next 10 years or so, as a majority of parents get tired of the crap and pull their kids out and school them on their own.

I hope it drives the public schools into bankruptcy, whoops, too late for that, but the schools and states will probably outlaw homeschooling or make it so difficult that the average parent won't be able to do it.

I will go wherever necessary to homeschool my children, clear across the country if necessary.

These whackos WILL NOT get hold of my kids, PERIOD!!

YES, this crap pisses me off!!

Give me a flipping break, this is another reason I homeschool, so the fundamentalist with their bible thumping crap can't get to my kids either.

Evolution impossible? Get a grip, You've been listening to yourself too much.

I homeschool so that my kids can get a proper education, learn as much as possible, and learn facts without some crazy lefty or fundamentalist coming in and deciding that they don't need to know that.

YES, the right is as much to blame for this as the left.

IT IS STUPID.

The schools are there to teach kids HOW to think and give them GENERAL knowledge that they can use.

If you want to teach religious doctrine, such as EVOLUTION is wrong, then teach it at home. Otherwise, you are JUST AS BAD as the left you complain about so much.

Keep your religious and political BELIEFS out of the public school system, and maybe we wouldn't be having this problem.

If you want your kids to learn religious doctrine, and follow your political beliefs, then do it at home.

Essentially you are declaring that it is important in the education process to learn absolutely nothing from our predescessors

Huh? I didn't see that in the post you were responding to. Perhaps you meant to respond to someone else?

Firstly, 'Evolution' can NOT be "proven" as "fact."

Do you want your kids being taught unequivically that man has definitely evolved from baboon, who evolved from an amoeba?? NOT as "theory," but as scientific gospel "truth" as it's been now for decades??

And as far as your buying into the cartoonish characature of "crazy fundamentalist," you have obviously fallen victim to the massive brainwashing program ("YES, theright is as much to blame for this as the left") of our 'enlightened' public school system yourself, OR maybe you just hate the fact some of us abide by God's Rules, rather than man's.

I will salute you as I sip my next mug of kool-ade.

Excuse me, but my children will be given the truth.

The theory of evolution is a theory, just as the the theory of gravity is a theory, or the theory of relativity is a theory.

You guys need to get a grip.

I want my children taught science, and to be allowed to ask questions without being shouted down by anyone.

They will question EVERYTHING, and that is the way it should be. Knowledge comes from questions, and to question is to learn. The problem is that children are no longer allowed to question, they are told what to think.

Public education is not education, but indoctrination.

And the indoctrination comes from BOTH sides, not just the left.

And I have not been brainwashed by the public schools, as a matter of fact I spent a MAJORITY of my schooling in Private christian schools, so maybe you ought to get facts straight before you spout off about brainwashing.

Because the private christian education was as bad at brainwashing with religious doctrine as the public school is about the other direction.

Thank god that I had a mother that cared enough to make me think, instead of sitting back and letting me just learn.

While I agree with most of what you said, I take exception to the religious schools "brainwashing" the children. When a parent enrolls their child into a Christian school, they go in with both eyes open that the child WILL BE taught about Christianity. Ergo, "Christian school".

When some parents, the unenlightened ones, send their children to public school, they more often than not haven't a CLUE as to the indoctrination going on there.

Dr. Wiens has a PhD in Physics, with a minor in Geology. His PhD thesis was on isotope ratios in meteorites, including surface exposure dating. He was employed at Caltech's Division of Geological & Planetary Sciences at the time of writing the first edition. He is presently employed in the Space & Atmospheric Sciences Group at the Los Alamos National Laboratory.

So where are his "Christian" Credentials????

"The theory of evolution is a theory, just as the the theory of gravity is a theory, or the theory of relativity is a theory."

Except some "theories" actually work or are executed according to said theories.

There is NO "proof" -- not one single iota proving ANY "theory" of evolution. However, upon perusing the average public school "science" book, one is one is essentially and fraudulently taught otherwise -- of course pending the "missing link" that is insisted lies somewhere in the fertile imagination of academia.

"I want my children taught science, and to be allowed to ask questions without being shouted down by anyone.

And pray tell, what question is it that your children will be "shouted down" for?? Who are you -- Tim Robbins caddie??

"Private christian education was as bad at brainwashing with religious doctrine as the public school is about the other direction."

If you are going to stand by this ludicrous statement, "brainwashing" has not been your biggest problem.

BTW -- did they "brainwash" by telling you "God is everywhere"??

Like I said, you need to get a grip,

You are badly misinformed, or ignore that which might bring your faith into question, or just plain ignorant.

To say that there is no evidence for the theory of evolution, is like saying the earth is flat, or are you a flat earther? If so, I sure as heck hope you didn't homeschool, your poor child must be really confused.

The Theory of evolution is believed by over 99% of scientists, if it doesn't have any evidence to back it, then we are deep kimchi buddy.

You gonna make me laugh some more, or are you done with your comedy routine?

So where are his "Christian" Credentials????

Go down to the section called "More about the author". (Click the link & scroll back a paragraph.) It mentions:

...He has published over twenty scientific research papers and has also published articles in Christian magazines. Dr. Wiens became a Christian at a young age, and has been a member of Mennonite Brethren, General Conference Baptist, and Conservative Congregational, and Vineyard denominations. He does not see a conflict between science in its ideal form (the study of God's handiwork) and the Bible, or between miracles on the one hand, and an old Earth on the other.

Why are you so angry? I just told you I homeschooled my daughter and you flip out like I'm the one messing up the schools. There is no right wing Bible thumping going on in schools. That's why I took her out. It's good you homeschooled yours, but they certainly wouldn't be exposed to the Bible in public school. You are the one loosing their grip.

BTW, we taught her evolution in homeschool to show how rediculous it is. If you homeschool, you can show the other side and all the contrdictions and holes. In public school, all you have is the company line and no questions are allowed.

"The Theory of evolution is believed by over 99% of scientists, if it doesn't have any evidence to back it, then we are deep kimchi buddy."

Please do expound on this so-called "evidence" to back up the theory of evolution "99% of scientists..."

I, OTOH, must have missed the fossilized "discoveries" of the ape-man linkage, and ANY species leap-frogging and subsequent manic celebrating thereof by desperate Darwinian researchers...

Please ping me when you can provide the links to the stories....
