'They' aren't straving....The head dope head looks like he could remove himself from the table a little bit sooner. He could care less about the people, he has at least 8 HUGH prisons stuffed with slave labor for doing nothing. He gives the free food to his army, and himself, his people have been seen eatting grass by some humanitarian agencies.

I kinda thought that too...test the damn thing over Hollyweird...then we take out North Korea, it's a win, win situation.
To: Jewels1091
The reports I've read on the issue state that they are starving and only a few get more than one small meal a day.

Ummm! North Diarrhea might nuke the USA????Are you kidding? Let them try it.
To: A CA Guy
I imagine that if they did anything over or in the USA that they would some form of hell to deal with from us.
Oh yeah??what if we have a DemoncRAT President who is so PC that she does NOT want to hurt North Koreas' feelings? HuH, what about then!

I don't think those sunglasses are going to be dark enough.

If the US was attacked by a missile from a nation, there would be a response. There is no excuse, like not knowing who the terrorist was who blew a building up.
If a missile is launched, it is tracked from the source and I do believe there would be hell to pay.

Wouldn't the President have to sign off on that?! Yes! I just don't see any DemoncRAT President signing off on retailitory Nuclear strikes...why, somebody might get hurt, or killed!

Given that the H-bomb stuff is clearly false, the rest is highly dubious as well... Yes, it does get one to thinking so. Why then? Given Russia and France and how they stabbed us in the back in Iraq, and given China's not-so-secret plans for serious long-term efforts to undermine American hegemony, is Kim Jong Il being enticed to draw us into Korean War II?
Whatever the case, it should be making us very interested in making the first move oureslves. President Bush has carte blanche as far as I'm concerned.

Of course, we have an Ohio class with 12-24 Trident D5 mirving missles off in the Western Pacific. It is there against North Korea, China, and Russia. We just don't advertise these things.
The US and Japan have Aegis Destroyers (Arleigh Burkes and Kongous) off the penninsula for boost-phase intercepts.

It occurs to me that nuking the NK cities would be counterproductive, if we don't actually lose a city. Nuking Pyonyang's enslaved and starving civilians would make us look vindictive. A nuclear decapitation strike mixed with swift destruction of key NK military installation and units would destroy the regime with minimal casualties. Our enemies don't care about loosing some cities. They care about their regimes.
Were I in the Pentagon, I would propose an attack using carrier based jets as well as strategic bombers.
The North Koreans have some underground command bunkers. I figure a few nuclear bunker busters could decapitate the regime. Two other targets would need to be destroyed at the same time:
1) The Korean ICBMs and IRBMs. B1's or B2's with JDAM's would work.
2)The dug-in artillery aimed at Soeul and the DMZ. B-1's or B-2's with JSOW-As, would work nicely. http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/smart/agm-154.htm
The remaining B-2's, would take out the integrated defense system, and the remainder of North Korea C4I. At the same time, the CVBG would launch missles to take out the North Korean air force and clean up anything the heavy bombers miss.
We could get most of the job done in under 1 hour of combat without using Japanese or SouthKorean facilities.
Of course, Japan has about 500 modern aircraft and could participate.

What if there's a problem of not being able to know where each bunker is?

Just to make your point at Ground zero a nuclear detonation reaches 500,000 degrees and gets cooler as the blast goes outward. :o)

As opposed to leveling cities where we know the leadership will not be?
That is shooting the hostage, because we aren't sure we can hit the criminal.

This is intolerable. It is time to rid the world of this regime. (Does anyone know anything about KoreaWebWeekly?)
Wonder what it means that a "warhead" from Korea was found in Alaska. If it means what I think it does, then it is DEFINITELY time to take this regime out.
To: rmlew
As opposed to leveling cities where we know the leadership will not be? No, I agree -- I do not want the blood of millions of North Korean civilians on my hands. What I'm concerned about is the 20th bunker. We hit 19, but we don't know about the 20th. It's situated elsewhere, and contains an equal number of nukes, one of which is pointed at Toky, another at Soeul.
I'm just pointing out that "nuking" North Korea may leave us with a few vulnerabilities, and I'm curious to know if we're prepared to deal with them. I hope so. I stand with those of you who are willing to take the risk. I think we should consult with our friends in Japan as we make up our minds, however.
