I have heard that only sniffing dogs at every arline checkpoint would be 100% effective.Assuming that the dogs were trained to detect the particular explosives being used, and that something innocous wasn't being used as a decoy to get cleverly disguised explosives/weapons overlooked. I immagine that the majority of terrorists aren't particularly brilliant, so dogs would probably get almost everything. Other than that vigilance and intense surveilance of the enemy is our main hope.

Isn't a terrorist a murderer? I think so. They go after civilians.Problem is that they are also "civilians". They're not the military personel of a foreign government. Warfare is reverting, IMO, to the way it was for most of history: Civilian group against civilian group, klan against klan, one race against another, religion against religion. family against family, Hatfields against McCoys, etc. The State is losing it's monopoly on warfare. Army against Army may again become a small player in the overall picture of warfare in the 21st century.

The only solution is to kill all AQ-affiliated persons.Eventually, Islam will kill us or we will kill Islam. Kill AQ and another group will pop up. They're just a small, and maybe minor, player in the events starting to unfold in the world. The world's not big enough for both Islam and someone else. There will be no compormise, no middle ground, no retreat by Islam. In the end, there can be only one.

FOX championed this phrase to REPLACE suicide bomberSo? That doesn't change the fact that it's a stupid phrase.
"Terrorist bombing" does NOT reflect murder.
Oh, really? Since when did terrorists start bombing with any intent other than murder? Have they shifted to bombing strategic targets, now?
Like I said before, "suicide bomber" accurately describes the crime and the method. Anything else is just dumbing-down the news for the sake of somebody's irrational feelings.

More stuff from Debka. I'd like to know what a standard detector detects. There are things in the laboratory stage of development that can tell you the fiber blend of your socks. And does this mean that detectors have been in use for some time? If so do we really want to know their capabilities?

Re the anti - terrorist "Bug Zapper"; Thank you for your insight.
It seems that my crazy idea perhaps wasn't so off-the-wall after all, eh?
And I'm glad that somebody thought of it long before I did, and that it seems to have worked at least to some extent.
Given the advances in electronic technology since 1970 (the year I got out of the Army) I would expect that they'd have some really super-duper "Zappers" available by now.
Sadly, you can't have all of the security personel and equipment everywhere all of the time, and that works to the terrorist's advantage all too often.
Shalom Israel.

Army against Army may again become a small player in the overall picture of warfare in the 21st century. Excellent point. And which is why the 2nd Ammendment is so important.
