BATON ROUGE -- Absentee ballots cast by people who died before election day are legal and should be counted, the Senate decided Monday.

Senate Bill 11 by Sen. Reggie Dupre, D-Montegut, was approved 35-0.

The bill is in response to a Terrebonne Parish case in which officials discounted the absentee ballot of a person who died the day before the votes were to be counted.

This bill is OK. It lets people's absentee ballot still count even if they died after they voted before the election.

This is not to be confused with the Democrats who not only allow, but encourage voting after Death. Anyone who is dead can contact the DNC & they will ensure that your vote will be counted. Even if they have to assume that you would have voted, they will vote for you!!

Also consider it means that all absentee voters are treated alike. In my state, if you vote in the early voting at one of the designated locations, your ballot is placed in a ballot box and mixed with others. There's no way the ballot could be invalidated, because it can not be identified. Only mail in absentee ballots could be identified individually.

OK, so if you're in the service and stationed overseas, your absentee ballot doesn't count. But if you're dead, your vote counts.

What if you're in the service and send in your absentee ballot prior to the election, but die in combat after mailing the ballot but before election day. Shouldn't your ballot be counted?

I agree. I see nothing wrong with this particular bill (*except with the small possibility of fruad). Especially if our proud service men and women sent in their ballots before being killed in combat overseas.

This isn't the same as the Democrats getting voters who are already six feet under to vote. Even if they have been dead LONG before the elections began.

*The only way fraud can happen here is, if said person died close to election, did NOT turn in an absentee ballot...but mysteriously, he wound up voting anyway. But even then, widespread voting from people who just died should raise some eyebrows (supposing that someone paying attention and is preventing/stopping fraud in the first place of coarse...which doesn't appear to be the case in certain places *cough*SanFrancisco*cough*).

In my mind, you *have* to allow the ballot to count otherwise DNC death squads would stage mass murders in upscale sections of towns engaged in close elections. Don't think they wouldn't...

Better to have them cheat with illegals than have than to watch a whole Parish perish. Think, folks..

The Dems are so in favor of the existence-challenged participating in the political process, they not only make sure their votes are counted, they often even give them dead guys to vote for. It's all perfectly in synch with the liberal principle that only a member of a minority can legitimately represent that minority in office.
