Anarchism is incompatible with conservatism, and is not welcome here. Go push your twiddle over on infoshop or indymedia. Thanks, AM
To: FreeperRedux
This is past sick.....I think it should be removed, but that's just my opinion.
To: FreeperRedux
Nonsense. Jesus, as the King, is a Monarch.

okay, i admit, i didn't read the article. but when i read the headline, one quote from Christ rang in my head:
"Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesars" (Matt. 22:21)
To: Jewels1091
I agree. It is beyond sick.
I thought about zotting it, and I thought about pulling it.
But you know what? It is an offensive ideology, and letting people see it for what it is just might have a benefit.
That's my current inclination, although I could be persuaded differently.

I explained a bit above. If I am wrong, let me know.

Maybe you should have just directed everybody to buy the book instead of publishing it.

I think I read about...five words, and then PgDn'ed the rest of the way. I don't need a headache. Could this be summed up in say, one sentence? ;)

I think He was apolitical - He was not political at all...did he not tell slaves to be good slaves in Ephesians? I don't think He beleived in slavery, He was just not going to challange the politics of the time because that's not why He was here.
To: Pan_Yans Wife
Who is he?

LOL!
I prefer the late Redux's thread click, simply because brevity is the soul of...... something or other, and this screed is a migraine-maker. Is Redux kin to NYCBob who posted a one-line vanity with an out-of-context Bible verse yesterday? If so, he's gone from short and mysterious to verbose and unintelligible.

I scanned the article, and found the keyword I was looking for. "Hitler". Once an article uses Hitler, Nazi's or National Socialism to make a point I quit reading it and forget the whole thing. Why? Because Nazism has become an intellectual "black box", an optimum launching pad for any ex cathedra statement the author wants to make. Any loathsome act, belief or policy can be attributed to the Nazis, and nobody will dare to say if it is not true.
For example, one could claim "Hitler ate Jewish babies brains for breakfast", and everyone would just say "yes, those Nazis were sure evil". But if someone were to say "that seems wrong to me, as I understand it Hitler was a vegetarian" then everyone will attack this person as being a Nazi for daring to defend Hitler. See how it works?
As a result, I quickly scan all articles for the keywords "Hitler", "Nazi", and "National Socialism". Once I find those words, I discard the article. I am sick of lazy thinkers using Hitler to sell their snake oil.

I don't have the time right now to read the whole thing, but I note this statement:
Above I also stated that Jesus's commandment of the Golden Rule not only proves that He is an anarchist, but also necessarily a libertarian, or free market, anarchist to be specific.
So this doesn't appear to be the left-wing type of anarchism, but the right-wing, pro-free market, anarcho-capitalist type.
As much as I adore the Viking Kitties, this may have been a bit quick on the Zot. At least, I suspect indymedia and other left-wing sites wouldn't be enamored of it, either.
To: Senator Pardek
A Zot gets you banned or suspended? Hmmm... I wonder if he will lurk and read how his thread transpires, and if he will be pleased with the results?

It is an offensive ideology, and letting people see it for what it is just might have a benefit.IMHO it is simply too lengthy for most people to grasp, their eyes will glaze over first.
Still, it is a good example of someone with waaaaaaay too much free time on their hands.
One wonders how they can even compose such drivel without putting themselves to sleep.

Anarchism is not welcome here. Period.
To: FreeperRedux
Extremely poor philosophy, laughably poor politics, woefully poor Christianity.
This is simply the self-government thing taken to its logical, er, illogical conclusion. This delusional individual doesn't understand, nor do dyed-inthe-wool Libertarians, that a train is only free to go where it needs to go as long as it runs on a track. To be free of the restraint placed upon it would cause its certain destruction. Libertines and anarchists would have that train break "free" and thus crash and burn.
Jesus Christ was not an anarchist. He was a theocrat, himself being the Deity. His followers are to live before Him as in theocracy, and before their fellow human beings in submission to government insofar as that government does not conflict with the theocracy.
This writer's take on the Golden Rule reminds me of Wiccans whose guiding principle is "An' it harm none, do as ye will" which sounds great at first until you begin to ask, how do I know that what I will is not going to harm someone? Define "harm"? Then you realize how absurd is the whole concept of everyone just making it up as they go, doing whatever is "right for them". The Book of Judges is the OT is a good example: "And everyone did that which was right in his own eyes" and it, of all the books in the Bible, is filled with the most viciousness and cruelty.

This article is long-winded, and some of the logic is flawed, IMO, but there are many good thoughts presented in it. The person who wrote this article is not a blind, shallow parrot, and that is rare and refreshing.
Why are we so afraid of certain words? Stop "thinking" so emotionally.

I respectfully disagree with the decision to Zot this person. It's not like he was pushing Demopuke philosophy or an article praising Hillary. He posted an article on religion for discussion. We then have an opportunity to see what unusual opinions there are floating in the stratosphere, and respond accordingly.
The Lord Jesus Christ inspires strong opinions, doesn't He ?! (smile)

Zot all you will, but Redux's two offerings today didn't need to be burnt. They stood as steaming......er.... memorials to DUfer 'thought'.
This particular thread was a prime example which reminded me of Bill Clinton's 3+ hour speech at the DNC convention in Atlanta, 1988, ranked as possibly the world's most boring event ever in prime time.

Exactly. He wasn't about the temporal, but the spiritual. What does government have to do with one's eternal soul?
