May 13, 2003 -- THE Lady Macbeth of "24" is back. As "24" brings its season to a fiery close, the larger-than-life, snake-in-the-grass Sherry Palmer, played by Penny Johnson Jerald, has suddenly in the thick of things.

As if accumulating a track record of conspiracy against her husband, the President, weren't enough, Jerald's character now finds herself head-to-head with Jack Bauer (played by Kiefer Sutherland) who pulled a gun on her in last week's episode, uttering "Don't try me, Mrs. Palmer."

I bolded out the relevant part regardin Condi Rice; the rest is just entertainment fluff, although it might be interesting if you watch '24.'

Interesting to know that Condi Rice is making some inroads with blacks.

This reads like babble. I haven't watched tv in ages. Is this show worth my extremely valuable time? Haven't found anything worthwhile in so long, I gave up.

Besides, these actors are not compelling enough to risk numb-buns.

Then you should have just read the bold part, as that was my main intent for the article. I don't watch the show myself, but apparently it's pretty good.

Brillary? Sounds just about right for a no good backstabbing political snake in the grass of a woman trying to imitate Hillary Clinton. I'm sure she to would sacrafice her husband at the time of her play for power.

The show is absolutely awesome. Well written, well acted and always full of action.

It's actually kind of hard to believe it's this close to the end. It doesn't seem like there have been 22 episodes.

It's a intense roller coaster ride of a program that keeps you coming back for more, I didn't watch the first series last year because I just didn't want to get into a program that took a whole season for one story. But I did this year and now I look forward to the next Cliffhanger every week.

Sherry has been affectionately called "Brillary Palmer, the black Hillary Clinton" by many fans, says Jerald.

The difference between Hillary and Jerald's character is not in the character - but in the character's husband. He actually seems to have ethics - and last season when he was betrayed by her - he threw her out of his life. All I could think of during that scene was "yeah right...I could just see BC throwing Hillary out for trying to advance his career in some way..."

One of the few worthwhile shows on TV to watch. Only thing is - there are only 2 episodes left and there's no way to catch up on the previous 22 episodes in the last 2.

Agreed...I didn't watch season 1 for the same reason, but after the raves about it, decided to start season 2 and I always look forward to it. Very engrossing.

24 is my guilty pleasure. I love the 'Jack Bauer Power Hour'. I only wish that Kim would get eaten by a cougar.

Jack Bauer is about the baddest character on TV. Whatta ego trip it must be...."excuse me, I'm a covert operative on special assignment from the President. Let me call him direct so that I can check in." James Bond has nothing on this guy......

The show has really taken off since I got rid of one real...pain. I can't wait to take care of Mrs. Palmer.

Comments by right-sided, Hellraiser and shark are accurate. The show is unique and prescient.

Penny Johnson Jerald, in her role as Sherry Palmer, elicits the same emotions in me as does HRC. She does such a good job that I can barely watch her! Really can't imagine her in the role of Condaleeza Rice.

Nah. She'll be around forever. Not that she doesn't need to be capped, but she makes a good foil.

Found some good teasers about next season on Ain't it Cool News. It should be every bit as good.......

Yes. I think that she's in police custody right now. A sniper shot her in the hand while she was holding Jack hostage......

This may not be such a bad movie. Lionel Chetwynd is a friend of Bush and gave $1K to his WH bid...

SHOWTIME Announces Production of 9/11 Film

DC 9/11 to Provide an Aftermath View of Bush Administration

Source: Showtime Networks
Published: Tuesday, April 08, 2003

NEW YORK -- SHOWTIME takes its NO LIMITS attitude to the White House in its newest Original Picture tentatively titled DC 9/11, it was announced today by Jerry Offsay, President, Programming, Showtime Networks Inc.

The film will be executive produced by Robert Halmi, Sr. (Dinotopia, Arabian Knights and the Showtime Original Picture, THE LION IN WINTER), with Lionel Chetwynd (Kissinger and Nixon and the Showtime Original Picture, VARIAN'S WAR) producing. Chetwynd also serves as the film's writer. The film, a Lionel Chetwynd production, will be directed by Brian Trenchard-Smith (the Showtime Original Pictures SIGHTINGS: HEARTLAND GHOST and HAPPY FACE MURDERS).

DC 9/11 stars an ensemble cast including Timothy Bottoms (That's My Bush!) [I saw a bit of this on CC and didn't figure Bottoms as a dramatic actor. We'll see, I guess] as President George W. Bush, Scott Alan Smith (The Parlor) as White House Press Secretary Ari Fleischer, Lawrence Pressman (American Pie) as Vice President Dick Cheney, Penny Johnson Jerald ("24") as National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice, David Fonteno (Analyze That) as Secretary of State Colin Powell, Mary Gordon Murray (One Life to Live) as First Lady Laura Bush, John Cunningham (States of Control) as Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld, Greg Itzin (Adaptation) as Attorney General John Ashcroft and George Takei (Star Trek) as U.S. Transportation Secretary Norman Mineta.

The movie is scheduled to air shortly before the second anniversary of the September 11 attacks which stole the hearts of all America and the lives of many in New York, Pittsburgh and Washington, D.C. Production for DC 9/11 will begin in April.

DC 9/11 takes an inside look at the Bush Administration, beginning with the day of the attacks, and following the President's journey to Ground Zero, culminating with his now famous national address nine days after the attacks. The film covers the many difficult decisions and tasks faced by the President and his staff as they were challenged by the possibility of the "first war of the 21st Century." Eschewing their own feelings and healing process, the President and his team instead tended to the needs of a wounded country. Based on real life accounts the docudrama will interweave actual footage from these haunting events.

BWAAAAAHHHHH! You're sick of her too, eh? Each week I sit and wonder how one teenager can be so stupid? Will she ever learn from her mistakes? Tune in and find out! LOL.

Thanks for the ping.

I'd like to see how the TV movie turns out, but I don't think any Hollyweird production can do justice to the events of that day.

The fact that this actress feels as well disposed towards Condi as she does towards the Hildebeast is simply an indication that we have, at hand, yet another brainless actress. This sentence is most revealing...

"I put the gap in my mouth and the freckles on my face and shortened the hair," said Jerald, who also did extensive research to discover "why this African American is a Republican. I don't want to make a mockery or try to imitate Condoleezza, so I went for the visual change."

Why is it so important to discover why Condoleezza Rice is a Republican, as opposed to wondering why Hillary Clinton could be a liberal Democrat?

Thanks, but no thanks. I'd rather admire the Real Thing.

Accept no imitations! No spare change for Brand X....

Be Seeing You,

Chris

For me...

THE WEEK THAT WAS began with...

my own Father's Death on 9/9/01...

continued with my Co-Narrating the sudden 9/11/01 Airstrike on New York's Tower 2 with BOB on the BOB DORNAN National Talk Radio Show...

and ended on 9/15/01 when I found out that my fellow Battle of IA DRANG Hero RICK RESCORLA had perished as New York's Tower 2 came smashing down on him after his getting almost everybody else out of there as he was singing "GOD BLESS AMERICA" on his Bull Horn up and down those many stairwells.

My Fellow Americans...

WHY, oh, WHY did the CLINTONS just have to refuse those 3 free offers to bring OSAMA bin LADEN to an American Jail and Trial during the 1990's..?

To sign our Petition to President BUSH to award the Presidendial Medal of Honor to Lifetime Lifesaving Hero RICK RESCORLA:

This is a scream. The actress on the TV series "24" (Tues, 9pm, FOX) that is playing the divorced wife of the President (who has now been deposed by a coup) and who is conniving and possibly a traitor is the one who is going to play Condi?

Right now we are happily hating the character she has created. LOL!
