The pollution dig in this article merits its posting.

You're right, because it is misleading as the story goes on to say this phenomena scared the pants off of people in 'ancient times' meaning natural pollution has been around forever.

Did people wear pants during ancient times?

Right, I'm not sure, but I think it has been known as a Red Moon for centuries.

``Because of the pollution in our atmosphere, it's likely the moon will turn a deep red,'' Tampa astronomer Joseph Carr said. ``This is what scared the pants off of people in ancient times.''

Ancient people were notorious polluters, don't you know.

Carr was the professor of astronomy at USF when I went there. (Home of Sami Al Arian....) He's just an old lib dinosaur. Not a very good teacher either.

I thought we weren't going to have any more of those for a long time!

Well, if I was a jihadi nutball and I knew there would be a blood red moon, I'd pull out all the stops to blow something up while people were outside watching.

Thanks for posting this. I still like to gather in the yard and watch these kind of things - sorta like we always loved to do when we were kids.

BTW, I don't consider a reference to pollution as a "dig" at anyone. LOL Pollution is real. ;-)

They had substantial amounts of pollution back then?

Well, how can that be, when everyone knows there was no pollution before the Industrial Age?
