"He identifies with them in a way that's really special. He conveys his concern in a way that is really touching."

Former President Bill Clinton has been popular among African Americans in Mississippi, and his appearance Sunday is expected to give a boost to one of the state's historically black colleges.

The title on your link is, "Clinton appearance at Tougaloo 'a coup'", which does have the advantage of being spelled correctly.

Clinton can't help but apply a double racial standard. His assumption that the po black folk can't be expected to pay the same amount as anyone else is patronizing and should be insulting.

The fact that he waived his fee for Tougaloo College says "a lot about Tougaloo and Tougaloo's reputation and his regard for the institution," said Espy.

Wake up folks he waived the fee because you are the only ones left in the Universe who hasn't figured out he's still using you.

GEES Folks, Wake up once.

Well, it does say that they're smart enough not to pay him a red cent for his blathering. Actually, I think it says a lot more about Bill Clinton. His audience is thinning out and he needs attention.

The visit is not expected to affect the Dumbocratic vote in elections this year.

If the Dumbs were trying to win an election...there would be no waiver.

Clinton charges $250,000 for domestic speaking engagements, and $350,000 or more for those outside the country

That is outrageous! A million $s for every four speeches? Criminal!

Any black college that allows Clinton to speak is no black college and will not get one cent of my money. Clinton is responsible for the needless death of over 800,000 Rwandians in 1994. Not only did he remain silent on the matter, but he ordered the his State Department to list it as an "internal matter" because if it was listed as "ethnic cleansing" it was felt that Americans might be moved in demanding that he do something about it. Albright even along with Annan helped block UN Peacekeepers that Dutch Commanders request and in the words of one commander after the warfare "If I had 5000 peacekeepers I could have stopped this." Clinton has more blood on his hands then Slobo and Saddam combine.

That is outrageous! A million $s for every four speeches?

What is outrageous is groups willing to pay him for his worthless speeches. All cliches and platitudes and Bush bashing.

The fact is, he's waiving the fee to do the gig to get the kind of coverage this very article gives. A big old ego stroking boost, as his 60 Minutes gig is tanking fast, and there's been a lot a talk about how sleazy he is. He needed a boost and he needed it quick. Too bad some will allow themselves to be pandered to.

It would have been criminal to take the regular speaking fee of $250,000. Bubba is not insulting the folks at Tougaloo. He is doing them a favor by giving them lots of publicity. He would do even better by not dissin' the current administration and focusing on encouraging the new graduates to get out and teach some of the sixth graders in Jackson Public Schools to pass the 6th grade math and language arts exams.

clinton never does anybody a "favor" where there isn't something in it for him. The only question is, what is the "something"?

He would do even better by not dissin' the current administration and focusing on encouraging the new graduates to get out and teach

He could do better, but he won't. Look for more Bush-bashing and self-preening. He won't be able to help himself. He has a turd legacy to polish!

This is nothing more than the Harlem office crapola. After Bubba lost his prestigious office that he really wanted, he then went to Harlem and acted as if Harlem was the only place he wanted to be all along. He then proceeded to make up a story on the spot about how much he used to visit Harlem when he came home from England. It was his version of "well, some of my best friends are black people." This, is just his way of saying "I am one of you, I have always been one of you, and I will always be one of you. Remember, I will always put you first and so will my party." He is a flimflam artist of the highest magnitude.

"People are drawn to his charisma and his work on the economy, but others are turned off by the scandal involving White House intern Monica Lewinsky, said Mike Espy, a former Clinton administration agriculture secretary."

Yeah, I'm one that's turned off by him, but I'm also turned off by the nefarious Mr. Espy, who should be in jail with the bubba.

And, later in his Presidency, he apologized to the Rwandans, claiming he did not know they were being killed.

I'm sure this "man" has a special place reserved for him in hell.

We can only hope that President Bush moves quickly to prevent a similar tragedy in the Congo. The last thing I want to hear is the Dummycraps accusing the President of being responsible to the deaths of thousands in the Congo .
