Protesters Leave Sen. Santorum Address

PHILADELPHIA - About one in every eight graduates walked out of Sunday's commencement at Saint Joseph's University before the keynote address by Sen. Rick Santorum, who recently infuriated gay groups and others with derogatory remarks about homosexual behavior.

Santorum, the Senate's third-ranking Republican, didn't mention the walkout or the controversy directly.

"We are all called to love one another, even people we disagree with, even people who hate us for what we believe," he said.

Students were offered an opportunity to leave before Santorum was introduced to receive an honorary degree and make his speech, and about 100 graduates walked out amid competing boos and applause.

Some students had urged the Jesuit university to rescind Santorum's invitation after he likened gay behavior to bigamy, polygamy, incest and adultery in an April 7 interview with The Associated Press. He later said he intended the remarks as a legal analysis and didn't intend to comment on individual lifestyles.

"Senator Santorum and I are at completely opposite ends of the spectrum," said graduate Sara Foglesong, among those who walked out. "I am not incestuous. I am not a bigamist. I just happen to be bisexual. It offended me."

Across the street, Dennis Heffernan led a group of three counter-demonstrators. "I belong to a pro-life group, and Rick is a pro-life person," said Hoffman, of Philadelphia.

I'm not a Catholic, so I don't know, but weren't Jesuits conservative not that long ago?

Still escapes me how one pervert can look down their nose at another who gets their jollies in different ways.

Obviously, the teachings of the Roman Church mean nothing to a student at a university of the Roman Church. How sad? If I remember correctly, Senator Santorum was only reiterating the Roman Church's position.

The jesuits have all broken completely away from the traditional Catholic Church.

Best comparison ---- Jesuits is to Catholics, as hillary is to Reagan

"...likened gay behavior to bigamy, polygamy, incest and adultery..."

I see AP is still living the lie about that misquote.

They've been nasty lefties at least since the 70s. If you want the right, you'd be looking for 'Opus Dei.'

Although I am not certain, it would be my guess that the 100 or more students who walked out were all members of the tolerant left.

Opus Dei is left of center. They hate anything that has to to with Tradition. They are also a cult.

Homosexual behavior is DEROGATORY!

Texas Phys.Resource Council, Christian Med. & Dental Association, Catholic Med.Association Sodomy is an efficient method of transmitting STDs. And regardless of the reason, same-sex sodomy is far more effective in spreading STDs than opposite-sex sodomy. Multiple studies have estimated that 40 percent or more of men who practice anal sex acquire STDs. In fact, same-sex sodomy has resulted in the transformation of diseases previously transmitted only through fecally contaminated food and water into sexually caused diseases primarily among those who practice same-sex sodomy.

Homosexual behavior increases risk of AIDS - Dr. Brian J. Kopp, ... An exhaustive study in The New England Journal of Medicine, medical literature's only study reporting on homosexuals who kept sexual "diaries," indicated the average homosexual ingests the fecal material of 23 different men each year.

Medical Consequences of What Homosexuals Do FECAL SEX About 80% of gays (see Table) admit to licking and/or inserting their tongues into the anus of partners and thus ingesting medically significant amounts of feces. Those who eat or wallow in it are probably at even greater risk. In the diary study,5 70% of the gays had engaged in this activity--half regularly over 6 months. Result? --the "annual incidence of hepatitis A in...homosexual men was 22 percent, whereas no heterosexual men acquired hepatitis A." In 1992,26 it was noted that the proportion of London gays engaging in oral/anal sex had not declined since 1984.

The Jesuits were conservative up until the 1950's and then they went to the far left. They stayed on the far left and the majority of the Church has been moving closer and closer to the Jesuit position. It's very sad. They used to produce the most brilliant priests. Now their seminaries crank out a bunch of social leftists.

Anybody who hold dear the traditions of the Church. Opus Dei loves the Novus Ordo. That's not conservative.

Okay, you are not incestuous. You are not a bigamist. You just happen to be a pervert.

Opus Dei's founder, Jose Maria Escriva, is a saint. He also insisted on obedience to the Holy Father, something your SSPX sect ignores.
