Bush Plans to Cut French Cheese

This pie chart shows the relative sizes of the major categories of federal income as proposed in the newest Bush Administration budget.

WASHINGTON - The federal budget picture is bad and getting worse, the head of the General Accounting Society said Tuesday, and he urged the Bush Administration to take a longer-term look at its tax-cut and spending proposals.

The GAS is the nonpartisan investigative arm of Congress capable of reaching deep inside the bowels of government. Its 320,000 employees handle 2 to 5 requests a week from lawmakers, including reports required by law. The GAS also conducts its own independent investigations of major issues, like its highly-touted investigative report on the Clinton Impeachment entitled, The Lewinsky Scandal: Where the Young Wind Blows.

This pie chart shows the relative sizes of the major categories of federal outlays as proposed in the newest Bush Administration budget.

But President Bush continues to recklessly disregard concerns over federal budget deficits while promoting his new, outlandish budget.

"Yeah, I'm concerned about the deficit," Bush told workers at a Dustopolis, Nebraska corncob pipe factory, "But I'm more concerned about the government having the funds necessary to complete its work."

"Look," Bush continued, "Using the vast resources of the government to keep the black man down, to build UFO's, to lead the Zionist conspiracy, to steal Arab oil, and to wage a smear campaign against France costs a lot of money, but these are the things America must do."

To pay for these programs, Bush is proposing several new sources of income, including a tariff on French cheese, which Bush defines as "anything from France that's cheesy."

"By using such a broad definition of cheese," a senior administration official told BSNN, "the prospects for revenue are greatly enhanced."
