America's war on terrorism is eclipsing such critical domestic issues as education, health care and battles against poverty, former President Bill Clinton said Sunday in a commencement speech at Tougaloo College.
"While we are making progress abroad fighting terrorism, I'm not sure we are making enough progress at home right now,'' Clinton told the Class of 2003 at the historically black college just outside Jackson.

For many in the crowd of more than 7,000 that included such Mississippi Democrats as Gov. Ronnie Musgrove and 2nd District U.S. Rep. Bennie Thompson, Clinton hit all the right notes when he attacked Bush's tax cut proposal and questioned new federal court battles against affirmative action.
Governor Musgrove presumably cemented his hold on the black community for the November general election.

Clinton touched on "a lot of issues important to the black community,'' said Sharetha Cole, 21, of Chicago, who plans to attend graduate school and hopes to become a community counselor. What's a community counselor?

Democrats are throwing darts to see what sticks.
"Not doing enough against terror", "Doing too much against terror"

Pretty bad when you have to drag in the First Chick President to shore up a given base.
To: Theodore R.
Not doing enough in the WoT......
Doing too much in the WoT to the detriment of domestic programs......
Too preoccuppied with Iraq......
Not doing enough in Iraq post the shooting phase of the war......
What about North Korea??????
Tax breaks for the wealthy ..... and no tax breaks for those who don't pay taxes anyway........
Nominating far-right people (????) for the judiciary, thereby justifying out and out obstructionism in the Senate......
I'm hoping that the American people are as sick of these mantras as I am and send an unmistakable message to the Democratic party in November of 2004: we are tired of your BULLS**T!

It's starting already. The 'Rats used the same old tune to hammer GHWB in '92. We'll know the circle is complete when Carville cranks up the old War Room and It's The Economy, Stupid bromide. GWB needs about 12 months of solid recovery in the markets to defuse this issue from the 'Rats. Anything less than that and I think it may be curtains. Barring another 9/11 tragedy, the sheeple will probably vote their pocketbooks, as they are inclined to do.

A community counselor, Fred, is one who directs people to the nearest voter registration office, shows them how to become Democrats, and reminds them when elections are being held.

PING!
- This country has many challenges. We will not deny, we will not ignore, we will not pass along our problems to other Congresses, to other presidents, and other generations. (Applause.) We will confront them with focus and clarity and courage...
Sending Americans into battle is the most profound decision a President can make. The technologies of war have changed; the risks and suffering of war have not. For the brave Americans who bear the risk, no victory is free from sorrow. This nation fights reluctantly, because we know the cost and we dread the days of mourning that always come.
- We seek peace. We strive for peace. And sometimes peace must be defended. A future lived at the mercy of terrible threats is no peace at all. If war is forced upon us, we will fight in a just cause and by just means -- sparing, in every way we can, the innocent. And if war is forced upon us, we will fight with the full force and might of the United States military -- and we will prevail. (Applause.)

former President Bill Clinton said Sunday in a commencement speech at Tougaloo College. You'd think a former two-term POTUS might be invited as a commencement speaker at a less obscure university.

Tougaloo CollegeWasn't that the school those kids were trying to save in the 1980's classic movie, "Breakin' 2: Electric Tougaloo"?
