Hollywood Furious with Deck of Weasels
The Left Coast Report, via email | 5-20-03 | James Hirsen

Posted on 05/21/2003 8:37:53 AM PDT by Paul Atreides

NewsMax is already hearing that several Hollywood stars are just furious with our latest "Deck of Weasels" -- our playing and information cards that expose the anti Americanism of the political world and Hollywood.

One mega star's producer told us late last week that "Everyone is talking about it, and a lot of people are worried."

Worried about what?

Well, the crazed liberals that make up Tinseltown's elite thought the "Bush war" against Iraq was truly going to be a disaster -- and that they would be vindicated.

Sorry, Charlie, it didn't work out that way, did it?

Now the Hollywood libs were hoping that their anti American fervor would evaporate into recent memory. That was until the Deck of Weasels hit late last week.

The 55 playing cards not only depict the angry Hollywood establishment -- with the likes of Ed Asner, George Clooney, Susan Sarandon, Tim Robbins and others -- but reveals their most outrageous quotes.

Some are thinking that certain big box office stars may soon be going the way of the Dixie Chicks.

Well, let's help them! Check out NewsMax's new Deck of Weasels... get them and pass them around to your friends and family. They are fun and informative.

Made up quote - Newsmax has product to move!

The cards are funny, but no big producers in Hollywood are paying any attention to Newsmax.

So much for the old hollywood adage:

"I don't care what they say, as long as they spell my name right."

I think it was Mae West, but my quick search did not confirm that. Anyone care to give the correct attribution?

File this under things I did while on my lunch break...

Mark Twain: " I don't care what label others put on me, as long as they spell my name right."

PT Barnum: "Any publicity is good publicity, as long as they spell my name right."

Edith Head: "I don't care what anyone writes about me as long as they spell my name right."

George M. Cohan: "I don't care what they call me, as long as they spell my name right."

Mae West: "It doesn't matter what they say as long as they spell my name right!"

Interesting - the last I saw the DC were doing quite well. The whole idea of a deck of weasels, enemies, does not seem like a very adult thing to do. Didn't Dick Nixon have an enemies list as well.
Producing & publicizing this type of list can very easily backfire. Plus, what does it prove?

I just started. Right now I am thinking about making it multi player first (peer 2 peer). As for computer player, I didn't think about that yet, but I would imagine that it would work something like this.. (keep in mind that I am not a poker expert, but I do have a a holdem book somewhere laying around that I haven't read). I would have a function which would analyze the hand (look for pairs, 3 of a kind, straights, etc) So.. 1) Player gets 2 cards. They get analyzed for a pair, if no pair then the highest card, or for the same suit or for a potential straight, etc. Each of those possibilites would carry some kind of a score. So if you devise a point system you can figure out the computer's next action - ie, if the score is below, let's say 50 then check, if its 50 - 100 check, and if its 100 and up - let the computer raise. 2) 3 community cards are laid out. Now our hand is 5 cards. Using the same function we now analyze the 5 card hand and come up with a score. Once again, the computer's next action will depend on the hand's score. And so on. I don't know if that cleared things up for you a bit, but I admit that I am just brainstorming :). Ofcourse once there are 5 community cards and the player has 2, then you need to figure out the combinations of 5 cards out of 7. I think its 21, though I am not sure if I am remembering the formula correctly (it has been 3 years since I took discrete math). Then you gotta analyze all 21 hands and use the one that has the highest score. etc.

They may try some weak, insipid comeback, but it will fall flat, as it is nothing more than their anti-American horsepoop that is quite unpopular at the moment.
