Would you believe that I've made that pork chop recipe a few times and it is good! Really? Sure sounds simple enough. My kind of recipe. LOL.

Yep, the Coosa-Tallapoosa is a lolla-palooza name for a river!

Morning, Meekie. It took me the longest time to figure out how to get the code for this. I have one of these weather gizmos on my page, but forgot how I got it there. LOL.

Interesting info about Alabama. My Dad was born in Foley and waaaay back in '51, we drove over a lot of rivers and through a lot of woods to Grandma's house.
Enjoy your trip down under, mate.

Hi, Pippin! Have you got plans for a nice three day weekend coming up?
To: Mama_Bear
And a hearty good morning to you! This is a great idea and I confess I read about Alabama with some fascination -- a place I've actually never been to.
It's really scandalous how many states I haven't been to. I've been to California precisely once, for instance.

Yep, the Coosa-Tallapoosa is a lolla-palooza.... Sure is. I love funny names. You know, if something has to have a name it might as well be a cute, funny one. Whoever chose the names in our neck of the woods had no sense of humor at all. LOL.

The state nut of Alabama is the Pecan I thought it was Paul Atreides! : ) Very interest posting, Mama_bear....this is a great idea, about going from state to state! Looking forward to the rest.
Good Friday Morning, all!!!!

.....waaaay back in '51, we drove over a lot of rivers and through a lot of woods to Grandma's house. I think maybe I traveled through Alabama a couple times when the Navy insisted on transfering us from the East Coast to the West Coast and then back again. LOL.

So, uh, which one is MORE like the REAL Meekie, huh ???:

Enjoy your trip down under, mate. Thanks. The one thing that I hope to do down there is cuddle a koala. I didn't know about "koala cuddling" until I started doing some research on Australia. Seems there are places where you can actually cuddle one of those cute little creatures. Koala cuddling has been banned in New South Wales, but in Queensland, where we will be, it is permitted as long as they are only cuddled for no more than 30 minutes a day and have every 4th day off. I hope they have LOTS of koalas, otherwise the lines are apt to be very long. LOL.
