Character Witness<br> More Liberal Media (New Republic) Lies
New Republic ^ | May 26, 2003 | Peter Beinart

Posted on 05/26/2003 8:39:58 AM PDT by eBelasco

To conservatives, the Bush administration is everything its predecessor was not: decent, ethical, honest. It doesn't abuse government power or the public trust. As Wall Street Journal columnist and presidential hagiographer Peggy Noonan has put it, "Bush brings character to the table."

Lying is the knowing tellig of an untruth or even the failure to tell a truth when the circumstances require it. Mere statement of opinion is not lying unless actually known to the utterer to be false. The author does not allege that any untruth was knowingly uttered.

Inuendo is a lie. This article is full of LIES, I don't know what you're reading?

If an intelligence source turn out to be wrong, for example, then if BUSH relied on it, that means: HE LIED? HORSES**T.

This is exactly how the left tells their lies. For example: BUSH was AWOL from the military, a day doesn't go by that at least several callers to C-SPAN make that claim. They have no evidence, does that bother them, NOOOO, they know a certain percentage of people are more than willing to believe it so what difference does TRUTH mean.

You know the lies, Lord knows we hear them everyday.

Lies have always been the favorite tool of the liberal media. Thankfully we have a strong anti-liberal presence to counteract these distortions. O'Reilly, Drudge, Limbaugh, Coulter and Hannity, to name but a few, are in the business of telling the truth. The liberal elite media are not, but are merely propaganda organs for the DemoRats.

It's kind of interesting that Beinart holds the Republicans to a higher standard of conduct than the Dems. When Dems play politics that fine. What more do you expect? When Pubbies do the same, that's a betrayal not only of the way they advertise themselves, but of what liberals like Beinart have come to expect of them. It's a grudging, maybe even unconcious admission of Republican virtue (not perfect) and Democrat vice (almost perfect).

His closing statement:
"For conservatives, it seems, this administration's decency and honesty are ideological axioms that require no empirical defense. President Bush is not President Clinton. That's all they need to know."
says much about his standards. The fact that, yes, this administration is decent and honest while the previous one was repugnant and dishonest, does not seem to matter to him.

Sorry, I've now had my coffee, reread your post, and I concur, you were just a little too subtle for my early morning mind, LOL.

The cheap and easy way to attract attention, thus to sell advertising space/time, is to sling out inuendo against the people who make the country work. That's why "mainstream" journalists are anticonservative. Liberal politicians simply sail down that propaganda wind, far more than they lead it. IMHO.
