We've been having monsoon season instead of May.(a hord of kids are downstairs with all the pool inflatables having an inside beach party...again. It will be something just to see the moon or the sun instead of dreary clouds.

You mean there's hope?

All right, some interesting historical information. Here's how the size of and distance to the
moon was first computed by the Greeks. And here's how they first estimated the distance to the
sun.

Our local drug store has some good ointments for burning annular rings.

Eclipes are overrated. I put on dark glasses to view the lunar eclipse and couldn't see a damn thing.

Boy that sounds nice, doesn't it. Sure does! Grampian Mountains .... Scottish Highlands .... sounds like something from Lord of the Rings.
.... instead of moving in a typical west-to-east fashion, as is the case with most solar eclipses, the shadows movement will actually run in reverse from east to west.
.... now that sounds like something out of Buffy the Vampire Killer.

(Dow up big today, Tom Dasshole is deeply saddened)

Everyone knows this is just a big government coverup. It's really the planet Nibiru(Planet X) that is covering the sun.. the poles are going to shift as well! The End is Near!!! /tinfoilhat

Thanks for the ping. In the far future all eclipses will be annular. The moon is slowly receeding. :-)
