We don't have outside TV broadcast in this house. Haven't had it for 11 years. It's wonderful to not have it. I come to Free Republic to read about REAL news and then suddenly, lots of soap-opera like coverage of the Peterson case. I don't read it, am not going to start, and am bumping this thread.

If the man killed his wife and child (from the headlines, I presume that is the indication), then he should suffer the death penalty. It is for the courts to decide and I don't want to read about individuals who do, may, or may not live that way. Thank all of you for understanding.

Personally I am tired of it too. But this was the case with Chandra Levy until 9/11 happened. The media has nothing else to report right now. These are both horrible tragedies that were pounded into our brain by the media!

I've totally stopped watching the "news" channels because of it. It's no wonder they don't keep their audiences; all of the stations insist on soap opera stuff and having broadcaster's personalities and hype be more important than a serious, thorough, objective investigation of world and national affairs.

Speaking of beating an issue to death, down here in Arizona, I've gotten sick and tired of all the goings on about Laura Piestuwa (sp?) "the first female, American Indian soldier killed in combat."

Gov. Napolitano is milking that woman's death for all she can. At the same time she is threatening to veto a bill designed to eliminate voter fraud.
