What amazes me is that the author is a "professor emeritus" - - that means he (or she) is an old fossil who gets to hang around the college and weave baskets or whatever. How can somebody that old be that ignorant?

This educated spittlebreath keeps asserting 'think' yet it appears to be too difficult for him to do prior to spewing verbiage at us.

America is not a democracy, and it was never designed to be one.

I prefer another quote from Franklin: "A Republic, madame; if you can keep it."

I've only been out of college a couple of years, I am now an MBA student, and the answer is simple. These people do not chose to learn anymore. They have stopped, they believe that they know somthing so well, that there opinion is right and is fact, why bother even backing that up? Its not the point, being a professor means they know all.

This is NOT a conservative against liberal rant, its a works hard against laziness rant. I had teachers, both liberal and conservative and they were just to damn lazy to keep up with things, for gods sake, I shredded lefty's like a joke, and I made right wing guys look bad, why, because as professors they grew an elitist attitude, its more prone to lefty's, but it kills me when conservatives do it also. I can expect it from the left, thats there nature, but for gods sake, aren't we supposed to be better then them?

"America is not a democracy, and it was never designed to be one"

I dont believe that I ever stated it was a democracy. Unless you were directing that comment towards the author and not myself?

I'm definitely no kid anymore and computers can be a little..... frustrating, sometimes. When I want something complicated done, I get one of my teenagers to do it. Otherwise, I just click my mouse, click click click....

Some of my Taliban Republican critics take great pride in telling me that Benjamin Franklin urged the delegates of the Constitutional Convention of 1787 to open their sessions with morning prayers.

If Republicans were REALLY anything like the Taliban....you wouldn't be writing this kind of nonsense..you would be praying they don't cut your lying tongue out.
What phoney.

It was directed at the author, not you.

I loathe the idea of direct democracy. It always comes down to 3 wolves and a sheep voting on what to have for dinner.

L

Re: They're usually worse nutcases than any of their patients.

The last one I knew well went crazy himself, shot his wife dead and holed up in cheap motel for awhile until apprhended.

I've steered clear of psychology "professionals" ever since.

A question to this professor: How many right-wing presidents piss away $15 billion in AIDS money to Africa? Where are the spending cuts from this right-wing controlled government? Can you name any welfare programs abolished since January 21, 2001?

We have a moderate president,a liberal Senate, and a conservative House. The overall tilt of the government is center-right. Personally, I wish we had a conservative president, a conservative Senate, and a conservative House. If this professor doesn't like the way the US government tilts, he can always move to the Worker's Paradise, Cuba or maybe Red China is more to his liking.

(BTW: The answer to all three questions is none.)

Right-wing control leaves no reason for rejoicing

Ah, should I take off my happy face now?

I always find it odd that people like this celebrate totalitarian systems that would control every aspect of life, while complaining about the right-wingers who, by letting them lead their lives as they choose, are somehow restraining their liberty.

Imagine a human that could watch the evening network news and say this. To do so is to reveal that you know nothing about this topic.

Rather, imagine being so far to the left that the mainstream media seems conservative!

Eeee, can't imagine that unless I watch what liberals seem to take for granted. Sad isn't it.
